Hi! I posted on the multiples board, but I wanted to try here as well. I'm 30 weeks with twin girls and had my last checkup yesterday. My OB
asked if I was having Braxton Hicks and I said yes. She told me to start keeping
track, and if I have 4 or more in an hour she wants to know about it.
Problem is, I can't always tell if I'm having one. My belly constantly
feels tight because I'm getting big and the babies are running out of room, and sometimes I can't tell if it's
contracting or that's the babies moving. Any tips for differentiating a
contraction vs. normal aches and pains or movement? If I track
everything I think COULD be a contraction, they'll probably put me in
the hospital for observation and I don't think that's necessary at this
point. Thanks!

Our family of 5 is complete!! Love our boys!
Don't be scared to call. I had to go in at 23 weeks for monitoring in L&D because I had 6 in an hour and couldn't walk more than 10 feet without having one. I felt so silly but they were very reassuring and told me to NEVER hesitate about coming in to be checked because then they can help. Better safe than sorry, basically.
This is my 2nd pregnancy and I still have trouble differentiating between BHs and "real contractions". With both pregnancies, my BHs started around week 20 and never stopped. I had to go in twice with first pregnancy to get checked and already have been once for this one - at 32 weeks I had non-stop BH with pain and cramping every 4 mins for 6 hours. They just ran a series of tests to make sure I wasn't going into labor then sent me home. They were very encouraging about me coming back in if I felt I had doubts. I always feel kinda of silly when I get sent home, but as my husband pointed out, how awful would you feel if something serious did happen and you chose to ignore the warning signs.
