Shiuld I be worried? I havent slept all night thinking about it. My GP said i shouldnt worry as I did the nipt blood test at 10 weeks that checks for down syndrome and it was all good. What should I do? Has anyone else had this?

Based on that, I would say relax, and not to worry. I haven't had this, but I encourage you to put your trust in the experts! Or, get a second opinion if you don't trust them.
If your doctor isn't worried, I wouldn't be. Echogenic foci are a soft marker for downs, not a hard marker, meaning they show up more commonly in downs cases but can also been seen in the general population. Since your NIPT came back clean, chances are that you are just in that group of people who have a soft marker or two with no real cause for concern. I know it's difficult but do your best to relax about it, NIPT is much more reliable than a soft marker on a sonogram.
As a mother of a child that was born with 3 heart defects, I would say don't worry. They would be pushing more tests and would say if there's anything to be concerned about. Try not to stress.
I had this with my son! My doc had me totally freaked out saying there was a good chance blah blah blah! Went to the specialist to have an ultrasound done and he said that its so rare he thinks it's kind of silly to even check! Well needless to say my son is now 4 and is perfectly healthy! Don't worry it'll about it too much!!
Hi! We had the same with my first pregnancy. But they also couldn't see the four chamber heart either. They said it was likely downs. But sent us for a level two US. That US showed us that our baby had a heart defect and not downs. So we went on to have a fetal echo. If they saw a four chamber heart and are confident that there isn't anything going on with baby's heart I would rest assured. But if your anything like me you can't stop thinking about it. I would then request a level two US where they can look for all the downs markers and give you a better indication as to the Down's syndrome. If my doc wouldn't do it then I'd go to another doc for a 2nd opinion. That's just me and after what I've gone through with my first pregnancy and with my daughters care over the past year (she's 15 months) and her heart surgery I've learned to be an advocate for myself and for my loved ones and if I don't feel comfortable then my doc hasn't done his/her job. Best wishes to you! Keep us updated on what you decide to do. We are expecting baby #2 and I have my 20 week on Friday! Hoping and praying for a 4 chamber heart.
My son had this and it worried me at first. My OB gave me a choice to see a high risk in for an addional scan to put use at ease. The high risk OB did the scan and said there was absolutely nothing to worry about. He said its sooooo common. With this pregnancy the tech said they don't even think twice about them unless they see other markers. Best wishes.

Re: I had my 20wk scan and it shows a small echogenic focus noted in the left ventricle of the heart!
