So I got the prescription for a breast pump from my doctor on Thursday. I asked his secretary which pharmacy to take it to, so they gave me the name of a small local pharmacy. I took my RX there, gave my info, and they told me they needed to fax a title 19 to my doc and they would call me when that was done. I figured I would get a choice of what they had in stock, or at least be told which one I would be receiving when they called.
Well today I get a call from some guy who works for the pharmacy telling me he's at my door with the breast pump. He said aparently that pharmacy only carries one brand. I didn't really think about it..signed a paper, took the pump, and he left. He left me with a Mediquip drive double electric pump. I googled reviews and the few I found basically said its terrible and not very functional. It got 1/5 stars on Amazon and can't find much else on it..I'm guessing because it's an off brand.
Now I was told by my insurance that they cover Mandela double electrics..and I'm guessing probably other known pumps as well.
I'm worried that this pump won't work well based off the reviews, and I think it's something that I will be using quite often once my LO gets here. Is it too late to take it back to the pharmacy and try and get one from another pharmacy that has a selection? Idk if I can do that since they already have the title 19.. Am I being too pretentious about this? Should I just wait and see how it works? I just don't want it to be as crappy as the reviews say and have to pay out of pocket for a different one.
