Is anyone else experiencing pelvic cramping?

Hi Bumps!

For my entire 17th week I've been having these dull/sometimes sharp cramps in my pelvis area. They were once only on my left side, now they're on my right as well. I haven't felt my normal amount of flutters this week either. Should I go to emergency? I miscarried last year at this same time so I'm super anxious. Any advice?

Re: Is anyone else experiencing pelvic cramping?

  • So sorry for your loss and that would definitely cause anxiety right about now. I have been cramping on and off my entire pregnancy (17 weeks also) and my OB said it's probably my uterus stretching and growing. It is likely the doctor will tell you not to worry unless there is also bleeding accompanying the cramping. If you continue to be concerned, you can contact your OB. From what I've heard ERs are not too helpful because they aren't lady part experts.
  • Thank you all for the replies. I'm paranoid because i was crampy last time and by the time I bled, the fetus was already gone for weeks :(. I was only 10 weeks that time. But I still panic with every twinge of discomfort. When I ask my friends, they can't relate.
  • I was hoping this falls under round ligament pain. If that's the case, then KEEP GROWING UTERUS!!!! YOU GO GIRL!

I totally get the paranoia, I am constantly checking my little bump to make sure its still there (because if something happened, it would totally just deflate as my first symptom, right?) and I don't even have a history of a loss, I can't imagine how paranoid I would be if I had the history you do. Like others said, a call to your OB to settle your mind wouldn't be crazy but it does sound like what I'm dealing with right now (mild aches, occasionally sharp shooting pains when I sneeze or move just the right way) which my OB said was normal when I asked about it the other day. I figured pregnancy would be a nice cramp free 9 months...boy was I wrong
  • I'm in the same boat (17 weeks tomorrow); this has been a painful week! I used to have it mainly on the right side but now the left is just as bad and I seem to feel it all the way across.
  • Uggh. Its the worst. At least we have company here. My girlfriends act like they just floated thru their pregnancies foot loose and symptom free. Maybe they just forgot, post birth and all. I'm just relieved that Im not spotting. I'd probably loose my mind if so.
  • I've felt crampy this week (16) and it is alarming (previous loss) but am hopeful that it is just RLP or other normal pregnancy symptoms. I don't have any flutters so nothing to tell me things are "ok" but I just stay hopeful.

Call if you need support or a quick check in for sanity. Good luck!!
  • I was just wondering if your (all of you) cramping feels similar to menstrual cramps? I had cramping and trace spotting last weekend, first time this pregnancy, went to Dr's last Tuesday and all was well. Now I'm having cramping again with a tiny, I mean tiny amount of spotting. I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow and I'm nervous. Dr. Basically said to just take it easy and doesn't seem to worried, but I've had such a scary pregnancy so far, with false positives on bloodwork.

  • Yes definitely. I've had cramping that feels just like menstrual cramps, which is super nervewracking, since I did have a MC last summer. So far, no spotting.

I have been chalking it up to RLP when I get the super sharp pains that are unrelenting for a minute or two. Ouch! I'm going to love hearing from my doctor that it's normal on Friday, hopefully! I'm 16 weeks!
