Waddle, waddle

Anyone else waddling yet? Maybe I'm the only special one....I'm guessing it's because I'm only about 5'3" and have an extremely short torso. Seriously I'm 21 weeks today but look like I'm about 14 months pregnant! Also hoping I don't fall flat on my face from this bump.

Re: Waddle, waddle

  • Yeah my boss, lovely woman she is, told me yesterday I'm waddling.

  • Waddlin' all day er'yday!
  • :p glad it's not just me. I don't even want to know what I'm going to be like when I'm 9 months!
  • I feel like I waddle only after I've eaten a big (or rather normal, but normal seems big these days) meal.  I just have started really showing though to the point that I don't just look fat I actually kind of look a little pregnant even though I'm 21 weeks tomorrow.

  • DH just asked me yesterday if I was pushing my belly out and walking differently.  I told him no - just the joy of waddling because I'll fall over if I don't!
  • I'm waddling already and my belly is as big/bigger as another lady in my office who is due 2 months before me. I'm 5'3 with a short torso to and its kid #3 for me.

    She's such a jerk face.

She sounds like an awesome person to be around. Yuck.
  • I waddle when I have to pee......
  • Waddling over here, too, at 21 weeks!  Plus my pelvis is the same kind of sore it was the month before I delivered with DS.   NOT looking forward to the next 19 weeks!

  • Not waddling quite yet (I definitely was last time!). I have reached the bounce-when-you-bend point, though. No more bending over for me...between squats for exercise, lifting DS, and now picking up anything I feel like I'm doing them all.the.time.
  • I'm a 5'3" short torso lady also and although I haven't been waddling (I think...?) I have found that getting up from a reclined position is becoming increasingly difficult!  Every time I heave myself off the couch or out of bed my husband chuckles :)

@kbrands7 Yes to the bending over as well!  Tried to do up my laces the other day and completely failed.  Who knew tying one's shoes could be so exhausting!

  • I 'think' I've been waddling but if I am DH has been too nice to say so. Bending down however is definitely out of the question. I've come up with some pretty creative ways to pick up things on the floor. ;)
  • @doozer1345 I told my husband your story this morning because he asked why I was laughing to myself.... I read your story yesterday, and was still giggling about it this morning. Too funny!
  • with 2 22month olds in the house, I'm bending over all the time. It's only gonna get harder, right?!  I generally just go down and stay down and sit on the floor a while.

  • I'm pretty sure that I'm waddling but thankfully no one has said anything to me about it.

Bending over is getting really difficult, especially picking up after my dogs when I walk them. It just takes forever!

Also, putting on shoes is becoming an effort.
  • I waddle the more tired I get. So towards the end of the day, or after a particularly long day in court.
  • Well, I'm not waddling yet (except when I'm out in the ice and snow).

But I'm definitely less graceful than formerly. As DH reminded me when I tripped over the couch on my way to the kitchen: "Be careful--you're not as not pregnant as you used to be."

    ALL OF THE ABOVE!
  • I love all of this! Today a few of my (close friends) coworkers affectionately quacked at me lol. I second tying shoes...why are they so evil??? Also heaving myself off everything. Pregnancy rocks

If I have to bend down I've started the no shaming spread of the legs and bend. Pretty sure I look like I'm about to throw a football but it works.

Try a sumo squat for picking up after the dogs. Looks ridiculous on the street but it's the only way I got through walking ours last time and I've been doing it more recently and can notice a difference in breathing, especially now that it's freezing.
  • I am in full waddle mode over here and it gets worse as the day goes on and my back pain intensifies.
