TTC After a Loss

Ttc this month after 2 losses

Lots of butterflies and tears, so nervous but so excited. Just want this next pregnancy to be our baby at the end of the rainbow!

Any advice for how to just breathe easy during ttc post loss or losses? Anything you ladies ate/ingested or home remedies to make odds of miscarrying lesser? I'm taking high dose folic acid, prenatal vitamin, evening primrose oil, eating healthy (lots of salads with dinner) each night and more red meats for iron! Exercise is running after my toddler during the day :p

Thanks for tips and encouragement!

  • It sounds like you're already living a pretty healthy lifestyle and treating your body well. I would be wary of taking any kind of supplement or anything like that without discussing it with my doctor first. I don't put a whole lot of faith in home remedies/old wive's tales, but I have started drinking more pomegranate juice because I've heard it's great for building up your uterine lining and I've added ground flaxseed to my smoothies to help promote hormonal balance. Even if it doesn't help me get my rainbow baby, it's good for my overall health, which is a win in itself, right?

  • Right there with you. Going to HOPEFULLY get the ok to TTC tonight from Ob-Gyn. I'm more worried about my mental health right now. My anxiety levels are through the roof and I refuse to start an SSRI or medication options. I'm trying self-guide meditation that my therapist reccommends. As soon as I get a BFP, I'm going to see about seeing my therapist 1-2 days a week versus every other week to keep it under control.

Good luck! By the way- is there a TTC after a Loss Grad check-in anywhere on this board? I have a feeling after I get a BFP, I'm going to need to check in with you folks.
  • Whoops should've mentioned my midwife recommended the supplements but yes wholeheartedly agree a dr needs to supervise supplements, esp if you experienced losses before!

Huh I love your tip for the pomegranate juice, as my midwife thinks that my lining was a cause for my last miscarriage. Even if it doesn't do anything it still sounds delicious! Going to go get some today ❤️

  • @mrsbenjamindaniel Make sure it's 100% pomegranate. No blueberry or anything else added in!

@chloe97 I'm not sure about this board, since I'm new, but I know that a PGAL check-in thread popped up pretty quickly on the Aug 16 board when I was lurking there. Don't be afraid to start one on your new BMB once you graduate! I think most (all?) of us will need it to manage PGAL anxieties.

  • @RiverSong15 Good plan! I don't remember a PGAL on my June BMB, but I also wasn't looking for it. Thanks!
  • I'm right there with you @mrsbenjamindaniel ! We will be officially TTC again this cycle after 2 MCs in 2015. I'm excited and nervous too! I have been seeing an acupuncturist for about 3 months now and we are hoping that this time around will be our rainbow baby too. FX for us all to get our BFPs soon so we can create a Grad-Check board like @chloe97 suggested. And I think I will also start drinking pomegranate juice too, thanks for the tip @PeggyOlsonFTW

  • There is a PGAL board that is separate from the BMBs - FX we all meet up there soon!

I have heard pineapple is also good for the uterine lining - especially the core. So, I try to keep my kitchen stocked with fresh pineapple and eat as much as possible.

Edit: tried to include a line of pineapple emojis when posting. Picture them here :)
