21 Day Fix...?

I've done it before with amazing results and I'm thinking of doing it again, but this time pregnant. Has anyone done the program before or any of the beachbody programs?

I just went on the Ask Autumn part of the website and this is what she says: "Congratulations! You are having a baby! You want to continue on with 21 Day Fix and/or 21 Day Fix Extreme, can you and if so what are the modifications. First of all you need to always get clearance from your doctor. As long as you have the go ahead a few small changes and you are good to go. For the nutrition component of 21 Day Fix, add 300 calories to your calculation to make sure you end up in the correct calorie bracket. For the workout part of the program, take it slow, follow the modifier, your body will be going through a lot of changes over the next 9 months, listen to it. Stay off of your back after week 14. You will need to modify a few of the abdominal moves at this point. Planks are a great substitute for ab work that is usually done on your back. I would hold off on doing 21 Day Fix Extreme until after you have had the baby. The workouts are more intense and the nutrition is a little more restricted, stick with 21 Day Fix during the pregnancy."

As soon as I get it approved by my doctor I am going to try it out again -- I know I will def have to do the modifications etc. as the workouts are hardcore even if they are only 30 minutes long!

Anyone else interested?

  • Lurking- I think the response is pretty good. It's mostly portion control with 21 day fix so adding the extra healthy calories isn't a big deal.

Usually you can continue with whatever you were doing before getting pregnant, so if you were exercising regularly you'd be fine to continue with the workouts too. Generally you don't want to start a new rigorous workout routine after getting pregnant if you weren't doing it before being pregnant.

  • I am going to start Active Maternity by Autumn on the Beachbody On Demand. When I go back to the doctor on Monday for my second Beta I will ask him if I can continue with the 21 day fix. I'd like to start a challenge group -- has anyone done one before? My coach was amazing, but I don't want to tell her that I'm expecting because I am so early and I haven't even told my extended family or best friends yet.

I love these programs and really hope that I am allowed to continue. I want to be as healthy and strong during this pregnancy as possible. :)
  • Is there a way to only do the food portion? I already do some intense workouts and I am not looking to add anything extra there, but I could use a healthier diet and stand to turn some of this fluff into muscle before baby fat takes over!

  • Yes @FireInWonderland you can totally do just the meal plan which really just portion control. Do you have pinterest? There are a ton of pins explaining what to do. And I'd go on amazon and order the 21 day fix food containers -- are for measuring your portions for each food group. Pregnant people should add 300 calories to what the portions suggest. I was never hungry on the program...in fact I ate more during the 21 day fix than ever. It was just the right kind of food.
  • @Smallinetta I do not have a Pinterest. Lol. I've been avoiding getting one because I already spend so much time on social media. Do you have to order the containers to do the fix?

It makes it much easier if you use the containers. I suppose you could look for something similar to use but it might be more guess work that way. My sil just ordered the containers from Amazon and followed it that way.

  • I was planing on ordering the 21DF today.  Is it best to get it on Amazon or directly from their site?  It looks like you get some extra goodies if you order from the site. Or is it the same?  Im going to see my OB tmrw but im pretty sure she will ok the plan.  I already work out and she was fine with paleo diet for my first :)

  • @izzetoot I ordered directly on their site and got a freebie of their shakeology which is AMAZING. I still have to check with my doctor that it's safe during pregnancy, but I really hope so because I would have a half a shakeology for breakfast at 6/6:30 every day it lasted me until about 10:30. Beachbody is always running offers and I'm sure for the new year there will be even more.
  • Ok, ill look into beachbody to see if theres any promos going on :) But I love the idea of a challenge group!! It'll help keep us motivated

  • @izzetoot it totally will! I'll post a discussion board once I get the OK.
  • @mommygrams0730 Thanks! I'm going to try to check my finances - I know it's terrible but I won't spend DH's money on these things because I don't always follow through and my own finances are tiny right now. It is technically "our" money and he never complains but I'm not working currently and I feel bad spending so much of his money when I'm just working out and studying for exams. :/

  • I'm actually part of a 21 day fix group through Facebook; I am one of the coaches. I think since it is a low impact workout it's one of the best you can do through Beachbody. Plus it has the modification moves.
  • @FireInWonderland Don't waste your money on plastic containers ... I've heard you can find the container equivalents by doing a simple Google search. I have the 21 DF and I like the program but favored the workouts more than the eating plan. But the eating plan is good.
  • Just did one of the extreme workouts yesterday. Love the workouts.

  • Yeah it's my fav workouts and meal plan! I used to be apart of challenge groups through FB, but stopped once I found out I was pregnant. I have an appointment on Tuesday to see if I can start again... FX
  • @jilligirl16 thanks! I decided not to do the fix until after the baby anyway, my OB doesn't think it's a good idea, because I'm on a special diet right now anyway. With all the exercise and the meal plans I'm sure I'll manage and regulate my weight well. I have an approved eating list. Lol.

  • Anyone have an opinion on extreme verse regular version during pregnancy?  I've only ever done extreme just did a round in December !  I'm currently doing piyo, and turbo fire, and autumn's 1st tri workout, although I had to up the weights. I  basically trying to decide if I should order the first one or stay extreme but lighter weights!

I'm interested in the CG too!
  • @stoneyfitma4 since it seems like you were active pre-pregnancy, there's no reason why you can't do extreme while pregnant. Just listen to your body. I've been doing extreme here or there since I got my BFP.

  • Have you gone lighter in weights? I did upper fix X last night and just stuck with 5s and sometimes 8s ... normally I use 8 and 12.
