Hi Ladies,
I have been taking 200 mg(?) of progesterone suppositories for approximately 4 weeks (I am 10 wk 3d). I have noticed a few things that seemed strange, and wondered if anyone was experiencing these symptoms (or lack there of):
About 1-2 days per week, I feel menstrual-like cramps (not unbearable, but definitely noticeable). It tends to migrate to my lower back. I know this is common in pregnancy, but I had assumed it would improve when taking the suppositories. Anyone else?
I have had tender breasts since the moment I found out I was pregnant. The tenderness increased when I started the suppositories. Two days ago, the tenderness disappeared. My overall symptoms tend to wax/wane, but this was surprising since this has been the constant. Anyone else?
Of course I am fearing the worst...I am just not sure how I would know if something was truly wrong. I keep reading (Google...big mistake) that when taking progesterone, your body will prevent you from bleeding. Silly question, but would you call your doctor for the two items mentioned above?
Thanks so much in advance
Re: For those on progesterone...
I'm not sure you need to be worried, but if you would feel better I would just go ahead and call your provider.
My fertility doc had prescribed crinone 8% applicators similar to a tampon for my first round of clomid in Nov. I chose not to use them because in the past I had developed APD (Autoimmune Progesterone Dermatitis) with the progesterone bullet suppositories. So I saved them and when I found out I was pregnant I started inserting one each night that first week figuring I needed the extra dose and since my immune system was already weakened by pregnancy I wouldnt develop the rash. My progesterone levels are high enough so I stopped crinone to use the pills instead. Taking a bath tonight at almost 6 weeks I felt some pressure near the opening of my vagina and I figured it was just a ton of discharge like I've been having lately. Nope! I pushed a little and A big ole wad of what looked like chewed up wax came out! Yuck. But I feel better. I had been wondering why I was having so much more discharge than my first pregnancy and why I always felt like something was trying to come out. That second week of crinone is getting donated. No way. I'll stick with the pills. The gel bullet suppositories never did that last pregnancy. :-(
Our little lightbulb is on the way!

Also to the first question......if you're having the cramping, drink more water. If you think you're drinking enough, drink a little more. I had horrible cramping when I first started the progesterone and drinking a ton of water helped them subside!
That being said, if you feel the cramping is too painful/uncomfortable or too frequent, it wouldn't hurt to call the doctor to put your mind at ease. While you're on the phone, you could always mention the lack of BB soreness.
