2nd Trimester

Can't seem to find this when I search

Hey everyone. I know that prior to posting I'm supposed to search. I've tried and can't quite seem to find what I'm looking for. So I apologize if this has been asked already.

I am 15 weeks today and having incredible breast pain but only in my left breast. The breast tenderness from first trimester subsided at around 8 weeks. Two today's ago, my left boob starting throbbing. I'm talking hurts to sit, raise my arm, walk, etc. it's under my nipple area near where my boob meets my chest if that makes sense. Has anyone experienced this or know what would randomly cause this pain after having no breast tenderness for almost 2 months??

    Have you asked your doctor?

  • I would call your doctor right away.
  • I left a message with my doctor this morning but haven't heard back yet
  • Do you wear underwire bras?
  • I had pre pregnancy but now I just wear light cotton maternity bras
  • Could be some weird effect from pregnancy hormones?
  • I would call back and try to at least talk to a nurse in the office. I find they can either give advice, or get me into see the Dr faster than leaving a message at the reception desk.

  • Yes, to talking to doc immediately. These is just pure postulation, but maybe you have some sort of infection. If it is hot to the touch, you have a fever, etc. maybe one of the glands is infected or something. But again, I have no idea but hopefully they will. I wouldn't worry but I wouldn't wait.

  • Doc said it's likely hormonal, said to take Tylenol and if it isn't better in a few days they would schedule an ultrasound of my breast. Thanks guys!

I've had breast tenderness/soreness pretty much throughout, but nothing horrible. About a month ago, I did notice a more tender area where the tissue seemed stiffer on the underside of one breast. I have always been diligent about monthly breast checks so I knew it was pregnancy-specific. I massaged it gently with lotion or coconut oil, nothing too aggressive and I did a warm compress a couple nights and it definitely softened and the tenderness/stiffness went away.

Definitely keep an eye on it and go back to your doctor if it gets worse.
