Ready for opinions

edited January 2016 in Baby Names
I think we may have settled on names, but am hoping for opinions in case we've overlooked something and these are terrible. Our last name is 3 syllables and starts with M.

For a boy: Connor Lawrence (Lawrence is my dads middle name and the first name of one of DHs uncles so both families will be happy)

For a girl: I need a little more help...
Anna Grace
Anna Theresa

We are set on Anna as our mothers are Ann and Anne so it's a nod to both of them while avoiding the fact that they spell it differently. Grace is a name I've loved since I was little, but I feel like it's sort of a common filler. Theresa is my maternal grandmother, but I'm worried about the sing-songy feel that they both end with a.

What do you guys think? We are keeping these a secret IRL so you guys are my only sounding board!

Re: Ready for opinions

  • I love Connor Lawrence! What a great name.

I think Anna Grace flows better than Anna Theresa. What about Anna Therese?

  • Would you consider Annabelle Theresa? Less sing songy.
  • Thanks everyone! Thanks for confirming my suspicions about our girl MN. We will keep looking on that front!
@mb0112 Annabelle was actually my original suggestion, but DH vetoed it and so we decided on Anna. I actually like Anna better now anyways. Annabelle Theresa does sound nice though.

  • i think they are all good names
i like theresa better than grace
  • Both great. I like Anna Theresa and don't think the fact that they end is the same letter is a problem. They go well together. But I'm also not super hung up on finding the perfect flow for first-middle. I definitely think meaning trumps flow.

Great boys name. I like Theresa better than Grace. Grace is one of those middle names that it becoming very popular though very pretty. I like the suggestion of Anna Therese if that flow well with your LN.

Prefer grace. Or Therese as pp said.
  • Connor Lawerence is nice!

I'm not a fan of your girls names...
Anna Grace feels like two filler names (although they ARE both pretty) and AnnaTheresa sounds like a nun. Maybe Anna for the middle name?

    Other suggestions:
    Caroline Anna
    Josephine Anna
    Eloise Anna
    Corinne Anna
    Katherine Anna

  • I think that Grace sounds better than Theresa, but for some reason, I always see Grace as a filler middle name.

I would go with Anna Theresa, even though it is a little singsongy, how often are you really going to be saying her first and middle name together? Probably not very often. The fact that it is sentimental, trumps the fact that it is singsongy to me.....

  • I love the name Annaliese if you're still looking for Anna names, but also adore Anna.

No ideas for a MN though, we're stuck too!
  • Great choices!!
  • Besides being sing songy I feel like Anna Theresa sounds Catholic or saintly or something
  • Anna Theresa is nice. You don't say the MN very often anyways. But I do like the suggestion of Anna Therese. It sounds like there was more thought put into this name than Anna Grace, although this is a beautiful name as well. As for your boy name, I think it is perfect.

    Anna Marie
    Anna Rose
    Anna Jane
    Anna Lynn
    Anna Claire

Edit to add I don't know if you are looking for other Anna names or not but my friends name is Anastasia I always thought it was a pretty name. I also have a friend called Annalisa but she just goes by Anna.

  • Love Connor Lawrence.

Anna Grace is nice but a little generic, as you seem to mention.

Anna Theresa is too sing-songy for me.  Would you consider Anna Therese?

  • Anna Theresa actually sounds like the name of a saint or something DiVinci would have painted.
