Milestone reached - 24 weeks!

Today marks 24 weeks for me and I couldn't be more excited. It's the most important milestone for me so far because it marks viability of the baby. Since I'm high risk and have no idea what to expect this is a massive relief for me.

Anyone else have milestones like this?

  • Today is 24 weeks for me too! Couldn't be more excited. Ideally I would like him to stay in for 16 more weeks, but something is telling me I'll go early. Watch, now that I'll say that I'll be induced at 42 weeks.
  • One week until I'm there!!!
  • Yay! Congrats! 5 days until 24 weeks for me.
  • Congrats ! Most of us are almost there too ! I have a week and few days !
  • Not exactly sure what viability week means exactly, but congrats :)

Viability is 24 weeks, when a baby actually has a chance of surviving in the outside world if something were to happen, like pre-term labor.

Congrats! I'm still a couple weeks away but I will definitely feel a little better when I reach that milestone.
  • Just gotta wait till Saturday and I hit 24 weeks too! Def see it as a milestone and a yay but eeeeek! Haha
  • Reached 24 weeks today as well and definitely helps calm my nerves some! Loving that we are all reaching the big milestones now!
  • Congrats! Hitting 20 weeks today so still got some time left to go but excited for everyone reaching this!

  • I'm still 8 days from 24 weeks, but my baby is over 500 grams, which is the other cut off for intubation/resuscitation. Let's hope we all make it several more weeks, but yay for viability!!
  • Congrats! I hope that this allows you to feel a little less worried from here on out!

  • Congrats! I was dancing on air at my OB apt yesterday when we were talking about being 24 weeks! Until, of course, my OB commented how big my little lady is (1lb 5oz) and the fact that we are planning a RCS. That means we are tentatively scheduling the RCS for...APRIL 20th!!! Are you kidding me?! That seems so soon! But, I understand that with my history and the potential size of this nugget, we don't want to take any chances of me going into labor. I have a meeting tomorrow to discuss maternity leave and it will be quite a shock that now the EDD has moved up so much. I was planning on starting my leave April 18th (which is the start of April vacation at the school), but figured I would have a week or so to get things in order at home and maybe even swing by the office a few times to help orient my sub nurse a little more. But, I guess not. This girl is coming April 20th. I can't believe it!

@laurenmdrn16 April 20th was my late grandfather's birthday. He was basically my dad and the most amazing person I have ever known (or will ever know). I think it is a lucky date!

@sarawifenowI had a grandfather like that who I honestly still think about every single day and think "What would Grampie do?" in most tough situations. My son's middle name (Olin) pays tribute to him and I burst with pride when I see my little man display my Grampie's quiet intelligence, strength, and kindness. Grandfathers are really special people. I am honored that my little lady will share that date!

I do not want it to slow down. I'm all for meeting this baby as soon as possible!!!!

I should clarify...as soon as possible but at full term haha not wishing for a preterm birth!!!
  • Congrats to all! I hit 24 weeks this Friday & happy to celebrate! Excited as the big day gets closer. I want baby to stay in place to full term, but man am I over being pregnant.

April 20th is my father and my grandfather's birthday (yup, my dad was born on his dad's birthday) and so the date holds a special place in my heart too. My grandfather is actually quite obsessed with the idea of my LO being born on their birthday and with my EDD of 4/30 and LO's size, I think it might be possible but of course I want her to stay in as long as she needs to.

    It was also Shakespeare's birthday!
