Anyone's LO head down but facing up?

As in sunny side up? Midwife said that is probably why I get false labor contractions almost every night because baby's head can't engage yet to put enough pressure on my cervix to keep it going. She told me to get on all fours and do a lot of rocking. Anyone else in the same boat and trying to get the baby to turn? Any success? TTM but never had the before.

I'm in the same boat! This kiddo is so facing Sunnyside up and to top it off I have an anterior placenta. She won't turn period. Iv been doing wall squats and stairs but nothing helps. And I keep getting mean contractions but they always go away the second I lay down. So infuriating.

Mines facing the right way but my chiro suggested getting on all fours and doing a back arch 40 times a day. Almost like a cat stretch. All the patients he's had have had their babies come out face down so might not be too crazy an idea. It's supposed to "move" the baby and because the butt and back are heavier than the front gravity helps turn baby so back and bum gets pulled towards the ground (turning the baby the right way). I've been doing it just because it's a nice stretch

Mine is somewhat facing up but my Dr says a lot of them will turn during labor/coming out

Mine is posterior too. My midwife said the same thing about all fours. Been doing it for a week. I don't think she flipped, but I'll see at my appointment tomorrow!

Mine was sunny side up when I delivered her. It really didn't change anything in regards to my delivery. It just took her a bit longer to descend. I wouldn't worry too much.

My midwife said I was sunny side up at my appointment this week1 38+ she said not to worry but if I was in active labor she would encourage me to lean forward to encourage him to turn. Maybe I'll do some cat/ cow yoga to encourage him. I don't think he's always sunny side up, he still does done pretty large movements for being this far along

My first was sunny side up but I wasn't informed of it until the pushing stage of labor. It took quite a long time to get him out but I did it! I feel quite proud of myself when I look back at it but I am doing all those things (all fours cow/cat, birth ball, trying not to recline so much) to make THIS kid get in the correct position because I do NOT want to go through all that pain and that much work again.

My first daughter was facing the right way until I started pushing. Then she turned sunny side up and was born that way.

My baby was that way but no one told me until after she was delivered. I pushed for over 5 hrs, tried all different positions (despite the epidural), and eventually they used a vacuum. She eventually came out - a little extra brusing on her head but nothing else noticeable. I'd ask your doc for recommendations on exercises to help turn because pushing for so long was not fun. I felt like I had just done an Olympic workout or something!

I just delivered my little one sunny side up. We actually didn't know until she was partially out, which totally sucked. She had so much hair that it was really hard to tell. We had to use the vacuum too, which left a little mark on her head, but it goes away. I pushed for 2 hours, but it would have been much less if she was face down.

That's how my son was. If you move side to side every half hour it can possibly turn the baby. I didn't want to do the every half hour so once he was out enough they flipped him and got him the rest of the way out.

Both my first and this baby were ROA/ROT the whole time.
DS must have moved during labor because he came out fast and furious with just a few pushes. I'm hoping for the same with this one.

Also, with DS I labored on my hands and knees pretty much the whole time because that's what felt best. He was born that way too.

My baby is also sunny side with an anterior placenta. One of my midwives suggested leaning forward a lot to create a hammock, another suggested Rebozo (you can find details on spinningbabies.com). But honestly, I have barely tried them. I'm going to just trust that my baby knows what she's doing. Most sunny side babies twist into an optimal position during labour.

@l4rk Spinning Babies doesn't recommend Rebozo for anterior placentas - I have one too.

I'm not putting too much effort in trying to flip mine either. Any time I get down on all fours and do stretches it just seems to activate my sciatica pain (same with the ball). I'm going to be happy he is head down and trust my dr who said not to worry too much over it.

Mine turned sunny side up some time between my last doc appointment and going into labor. The nurse at triage told me to lay on my side with my top leg extended forward to get her to turn.

By the time I was ready to push, she had turned around.

My cousin had this and dr ended up doing a csection because her baby was almost 4kg and his main concern for recommending csection was baby was in distress and not in ideal position to birth vaginally in this position... I read it can cause spinal fracture if you try to birth vaginaly when baby is in this position...

In my cousins case baby was in this position when she went into labor
