App suggestions for Dads?

Hi ladies, I know we've all discussed book recommendations for our DH/partner/etc. but I got him 2 books and they're collecting dust (he is very interested in the pregnancy he's just not a big reader). Anyway he did look for an App that would give some advice and he downloaded "New Dad" but he said he hasn't found it that helpful. I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions on other apps to try out? DH is always on his phone so I figure a good app is better than arguing with him over the text books!

Re: App suggestions for Dads?

  • This sounds silly but I catch mine looking at the bump since he's a big computer/phone guy. I'm sure he's also learning a lot just by listening to me talk and tell him what's going on with development. In terms of preparing and for when the baby arrives, my DH takes direction very well so I can sort of guide him to what I need. I also believe it's a learning experience we both have to go through together. We will also be taking a class together in the spring. Sorry this might not be much help.

  • Every week when I get my weekly update from the bump I forward it to my husband and he really enjoys reading it and does his own looking through stuff on the bump. He also enjoys getting daily updates from the Ovia app. He told me the other day he was showing the days update to people at work, it was really sweet. Any of the Mom apps I think are good for the Dad's, too. My husband said he's learning a lot and loves seeing each week how much the baby is growing and he was surprised how fast it's growing. He really got a kick out of our baby being the size of an action figure this morning (on the Ovia app).

  • Thanks @hollywoodave531 and @Diesel615 ! I think I may have him download the apps I use ( I do love Ovia & usually screen shot the size of the toy we are that week to him) I was hoping for something more geared to men (instead of the you may be gassy/constipated) as I'm still trying to preserve some intimacy here! But perhaps those are the best options for him! Thank you for the feedback!

  • My husband has the Ovia app for daily app updates, also. He also likes playing around with the baby's size based on the different themes. We have one of those daily pregnancy books but he hardly ever opens it.
