1st Trimester

A little out of breath?

im only 6w and earlier I was blow drying my hair and afterwards, I noticed that I was breathing a little harder than I normally do. I have long hair down to my back.  Is anyone else this early in pregnancy having a little hard time breathing after doing something? It's also my first pregnancy and I'm kinda freaking out.  Thanks in advance.
TTC for Baby #1 for 3 years. After 2 failed IUI's & IVFs, God blessed us with our miracle :).  FET 12/17/15 (transferred 2 embryos at 5days). First Beta 12/29/15 = 354. Second Beta 12/31/15 = 694. Third Beta 1/7/16 = 6,695.  Finally heard his heartbeat (126)  on 1/14/16 @ our 1st US.  2nd US on 1/21/16, HR was 159.  The most beautiful sound ever :)

    I doubt it's pregnancy related.
Maybe it's from overheating from the shower and blow drier...

  • I become breathless often but it did not start as early as 6 weeks. It was more like 11 weeks or so. I don't think it has anything to do with having long hair.

  • I have found myself getting winded more easily (I am 8w4d).  Yesterday I was breathing heavier after walking upstairs in our house, and DH said I'm going up the stairs for two now :).  I hope everything goes well for you!

Wasn't normal? Hmm. My asthma flared up during pregnancy and got a lot worse towards the end. Good luck to you OP.
  • I started getting breathless as early as 6 weeks. I would notice if mostly after I climbed stairs. No worries, I'm almost 13 weeks now and still very breathless. You're body is pumping a lot of extra blood and your heart is doing a lot more work. In your case, you may have just been overheated (stay super hydrated!) but don't worry if you find yourself breathless doing things like climbing stairs in the future.
  • My asthma was really bad at the beginning, my doctor said it was most likely due to extra blood volume and bloat making it uncomfortable to breath. I did have a little extra bloat from IVF meds and 12 weeks of injectible progesterone.
She said as long as baby is getting plenty of oxygen then there was nothing to worry about. I hope everything turns out ok at your appt.
  • sorry, folks- it gets worse :) I have been *slightly* out of breath off and on since getting pregnant. Now, at 28 weeks, I get out of breath talking on the damn phone.

    It's annoying.

OP, I hope you are ok!
