What brands have worked best for everyone else? I know I saw something about this before but can't find it now. Has anyone tried the Babies R Us brand? They are considerably cheaper than pampers.
We use either pampers Swaddlers or baby dry. I tried the babies r us brand and they had a strange smell to them. And they smelled even worse once they had been peed in. I found the same thing with huggies brand.
I use both pampers and luvs. Luvs seem to be cheaper and smaller than pampers. As long as she's in the right size, we haven't had much trouble from leaks with either of them.
@OliveOyl2014 I noticed the same thing with Huggies! I haven't tried the Babies R Us brand.
OP, I am a Pampers Swaddlers momma ALL the way! I have tried so many kinds - Huggies, Luvs, Pampers Baby Dry - and have found something I don't like about each one. Pampers Swaddlers are my favorite! Worth every penny!
Pampers Swaddlers or Baby Dry is my favorite brand. But we got TONS of diapers at our shower and have also tried Luvs, Honest Co., Huggies, Kirkland Signature (Costco brand) and Up & Up (Target brand). The only ones I hated were Huggies. We ended up returning $200 worth of Huggies because DD has poop blowouts in them every single time. I discovered that the Costco brand diapers are the exact same cut as Huggies but there is a different lining inside, so I figured out that the liner in Huggies is what caused the blowouts.
We use Luvs or Pampers Baby Dry overnight and both last her all night without needing a change, which I love! (She sleeps ~12 hours with one wake up.)
We have tried Costco Kirkland brand, Earth's best organic diapers, pampers and Luvs. I like the Costco brand the best, Earth's best is a close second. The Luvs worked fine for us but I don't like how papery they feel.
We use the Parents Choice (walmart) brand and we've used Luvs. Parents choice has the line to show if its wet or not and luvs doesn't. I like both of them and will get whichever one really. I do like the softness of the luvs.
My baby out pees pampers. Up and up works but they don't have a "poop catcher" on the back. Huggies were great but expensive. We use babies r us and they work great.
I love the Pampers Swaddlers and the best thing is that they have the pee strip on them through size 6 which the other brands seem to stop around size 2. The Up and Up absorb fine but they don't smell great once they're wet, I didn't seem to notice that with the Pampers.
Thanks ladies. I have also found pampers swaddlers to be the best. I unfortunately opened a bunch of huggies being over zealous and trying to organize so as soon as I am done with those it will be all pampers!
No one's mentioned them yet, but we've been using Walgreens brand, Well Beginnings. DH works there so we get a discount and stocked up when they were BOGO. Only had a couple small leaks when the diaper wasn't on tight enough.
We use Huggies little snugglers. They seem to absorb so much more of her breast milk poop. We tried pampers and Honest and I feel like every time she pooped it all just pooled on top and didn't absorb. It was gross lol.
Am I the only one that doesn't need a color changing strip to tell me when my kid is wet?
I don't NEED one but it's certainly nice to have.
Agreed. Baby is usually wearing a onesie and pajamas so it's not like I see the strip most of the time. I can feel the difference in a wet and dry diaper.
Am I the only one that doesn't need a color changing strip to tell me when my kid is wet?
Hubby likes the color strip but I couldn't care less. I've been changing diapers for decades and I can spot a wet one from a mile away. They look different, they feel different, and frequently they smell different. To me it's just obvious. But it does make it easier for me to get hubby to go change a diaper when he can see the blue stripe. He didn't believe me when I tell him it's wet until he sees that blue line. Whateve's.
I love the Honest Company diapers & wipes. My LO breaks out in pamper swaddler, Huggies, any generic store brand I have tried, really anything hahah. She seems to be okay with Babyganic diapers, but not wipes. I got so tired of spending money on diapers that gave her awful chemical like burns, that I'm more than happy to shell out the extra money for Honest. Plus they have really great discount codes a lot so I got 6 packs of 44 diapers, & 4 containers of wipes for less than $50!
We have tried the babiesrus brand diapers and actually really like them, I bought a couple of boxes of them while I was pregnant and they really aren't bad at all. They aren't as soft as Pampers, but they have never leaked for us so I can deal with that. Our favorite brand of diapers is Pampers, but I have such a hard time justifying the price of them when I can diapers that are considerably cheaper and work just as well. The only diapers that we have tried and hate are Luvs, every single time we use them we end up having a blow out and major leaks. There is so many people that love them though, but they have just never worked out for us.
Seventh Generation and Target's Up&Up are my favorite... Had daily blowouts in Honest Co diapers. Tried Pampers Swaddlers, but they run small and the liner sticks to little man's bum, so I didn't really like that.
Pampers swaddlers are hands down the best. We've tried Pampers, Huggies and Luvs. Huggies totally sucked, they are the only kind we've had blowouts or leaks in. And when a diaper is wet the absorption material gets really bulky and heavy. Luvs are good but I don't like how plasticky and crinkly they are. LO is almost 3 months old and we're just starting to run out of diapers gifted to us and begin buying our own. Pampers are great but on the expensive side...going to test out Up & Up for our everyday diaper, I've heard good things.
For night time I use the pampers baby dry because they're the only thing that holds her pee through the night that come in a size 2 everything else starts at a 3.
Day time I use Up & Up and I really love them. I have been using pampers swaddlers these last couple weeks because they were gifted to us and I really like them haven't had a problem. I do feel like they smell a little strange when they're wet compared to Up & Up but that might just be me!

They do smell strange indeed! And each box had a different chemical smell to it. Yuk! We used the Swaddlers for the first 2 months and LO was always crying when wet. Once we switched to the Costco brand we didn't have any problems. It's also cheaper. When visiting my MIL she got us Pampers Baby Dry. I was afraid at first that LO will hate them like the Swaddlers, but they don't have the same inner liner, so we liked them as well.
