Baby tracking apps

I would like to find an app to help track feelings, sleeping, diaper changes, etc. There are a lot out there so I was wondering if anyone had specific recommendations. What do you like, don't like, was it even useful?

Sorry if this has been discussed before...the search feature on the app is dismal.

Re: Baby tracking apps

  • I have downloaded "babybix" but haven't used it yet. So far I've been using a paper printout from the hospital.

  • Loading the player...
  • I had downloaded a few apps after my son was born, but honestly what worked best for me was using the notes app on my phone. I just would put time then the activity and any notes.
    Example:

    650-diaper ebf poop
    7am-breastfed 40 mins
    745-nap 50 mins
And so on. The apps had too many other things for me. I only tracked for the first week or two until I felt like we got into a rhythm. If you did longer an app might help more with keeping it streamlined.

  • Thanks for asking this, I've been a bit overwhelmed with finding a tracking app myself.

While we're on the subject of apps, it's not a tracking one but I heard about Tinybeans as a great way to share pictures, videos and milestones with family and friends and I love it so far. It's way better privacy than Facebook, only people you specifically invite can see what you add. Especially good for those of you whose family live far away, like mine do.
  • I've been using Medelas app called My Medela for the 3 weeks since I had my son. I really like it you can track breastfeeding sessions, bottles, pumping sessions, diapers, and baby's height/weight and you can look at the day as a whole and a weekly pattern too to see how kiddo is doing. Helped me at the pediatricians office when they ask how often baby is feeding and how many diapers bc my sleep deprived self can't remember that stuff off the top of my head. It seems to have a few minor glitches in the app like randomly it will close, but it doesn't lose your data but I don't really care since it's a free app. It's been a lifesaver for me
  • BabyNursing is great. It's free, easy to use, and tracks everything I think I'd want to.
  • Thank you for the suggestions so far...ill have to check these out
  • I've been using the Similac app. Has everything!
  • I used baby tracker for my first and really liked it. Like pp said it was helpful when the doctor asked "how many..." I could check, instead of feeling like I was guessing.
  • I've been using one called MammaBaby - tracks feeding and diapers and sleep and growth but so far we are only tracking what goes in and what goes out!

  • It's not an app, but I have an itzbeen timer from my previous pregnancies. I love that thing for the first couple of weeks! It has 4 timers on it and a place to note which breast baby fed on last. I like having something that is not on my phone, but I am sure there are lots of apps that have those features and more.
  • I am using Baby Feed. It's good for more than one child if anyone else needs that functionality

  • Second recommendation for BabyNursing.

I've been using it for almost 3 weeks, and it tracks everything I need, and it's super easy to use.

  • I mentioned this in the L&D thread but for those of who haven't gone into labor yet - the app "Full Term" is great for tracking contractions. It has a stop watch feature, times them, and then gives you the average time between contractions and average length of your contractions. You can delete and start over easily (which I do every day haha). Just thought I'd add it to the app pile.
  • I got the BabyConnect app. I've heard a lot of good things about it from multiple sources (friends, baby books, etc.) it tracks everything from feedings, poops / pees, sleeping, mood, dr appts, etc. My sister also got me a hard copy book called the baby poop journal - so I can see which one I like better.

Finally, I got something called The Baby Briefcase which is a great place to store all baby records (medical, vaccinations, etc.).
  • Lurking from July16, but with DD I was recommended BabyConnect from a friend and I really loved it.
  • We use Baby Daybook for our twins (although it's perfect for singletons). It's a lifesaver. I would even say it is our favorite baby product and it's totally free! We keep track of diaper changes, feedings, baths, and can leave notes to each other. It would be chaos in our house without it. :)

    I also use Baby Feed.
