So i am starting to notice a trend. Every night when i go to bed the baby starts to move like crazy. I can feel it on each hip depending which side im laying. Anyone experience this too?
I notice it all the time especially when it gets almost violent in there. Sometimes it almost scares me when she kicks /shifts around. Seeing it from the outside is what I think is the coolest / weirdest part
Yes! I was actually just showing my husband my belly that was moving around like crazy. She likes to push off my hip bone with her feet (I'm guessing) and pokes her head against the other side.
Yep! My baby moves a lot all the time! Its so neat to watch my belly jump around. I swear I think he is doing somersaults and flips in there. And agree with pp about it getting "violent" at times. Every once in awhile it'll be such a strong kick that I get worried thinking that can't be normal, and he's going to burst out Alien style!
She likes to go crazy between 11-1am. And then super early in the morning. If I lay on my left side she kicks and kicks to get me to roll over. It's such a creepy and cool feeling to feel and see both sides of your belly moving. I told SO the other day that I think she was doing sideways jumping jack stretches the way I was feeling her move.
In my experience, my babies' personalities are the same inutero as when they come out. My first one was crazy active, doing complete somersaults up to the end. I could get 10 kicks within 2 min any time, day or night. She was "colicky" for 5.5mos and now has sensory processing disorder and anxiety at age 5. My second would push back when I pushed, but was pretty laid back. He is a busy boy, but his personality is very laid back. My third slept a lot inutero. She was STTN by 2 mos (without any training on my part), and was my easiest baby.
Haha yes I think of Alien all the time too! He moves a lot during the day but right before bed he goes crazy! I dont feel him much just yet during the night but even my husband gets surprised. Im just hoping he continues to remain head down. Im wondering if my doc will let me see him while on my side to see what kind of craziness is going on in there.
Mine does her movement mostly in the mornings when I'm laying on my side. I think it's most likely because my bladder is full and she's run out of space. lol "Get your lazy ass up and pee mama, I'm out of room in here!"
Babies are generally most active when we are not, which is why so many are born with their days and nights confused. Our movement during the day rocks them to sleep, so when we go to bed at night and stop moving so much, they wake up without the rocking of our bodies. This isn't always the case, but it seems to be a large majority of kids. Also, the in-utero personalities, I concur. My DD1 never stopped moving from the day I first felt her moving...NEVER. She was, and still IS, constantly on the go. Even before she herself was mobile, when we would check her on the video monitor in her crib at night she would hit all four corners of the crib, somehow, multiple times a night. People comment ALL THE TIME about how much she moves and ask if she ever stops...I just look at them, tired, and say no. But as DH says, would we have it any other way? Not in a million years. That being said, it would be nice to get a balance of kiddos, so if this kids actions inside are any indication, she's active but a bit more chill than her big sis.

That's so interesting! I can get 10 kicks within 2-4 mins with this one, so it'll be interesting to see how this one turns out. My 1st (9) kicked a lot, and he has adhd and is in constant motion. My 2nd (8) just did a lot of rolling and stretching, and his personality is a totally laid back, happy kid.

Oh god I'm so screwed lol, my baby is hyperactive in my belly all the time!!
This is my third, so I had flutters early and the full on kicking started around 20 weeks. He is one busy little guy in there- just like his sisters! It is so much fun to have my husband feel. It was even more amazing when my four year old got a chance to feel him during story time the other night.

So you're telling me to get my rest now? This one is already taking after her mother...
@AmadorRose@mrsmtothek Oooooooh yeah, we knew we were in for it with DD!!!! But seriously, it is so much fun, even if it's exhausting...though it made her hate being worn (it never worked out for us sadly) and she's never been a cuddler. She loves to be in our arms...moving. She's been this way since a month old...
What I'm always curious about is how he can have his feet half way over my right side (past the hip bone) and I'm feeling movement on my left hip bone at the same time. The kid can't be that long? lol..
This little guy rarely gives me the hard karate kicks, but I'm pretty sure he's trying claw his way out of my vagina. It seriously feels like tiny fingernails scraping at my cervix. It's lovely.
My DD is using my bladder like her own personal trampoline! She has kicked the doctor ever time the use the dopler on me and we even have an ultrasound pic of both her feet when she kicked that! Every Doctor that I've had so far has commented on how active she is...I think I'm in trouble when she comes out.
Also woke up around five AM to a karate dojo competition within my uterus... He doesn't kick like that when I'm awake??? Wtf kid?
Ditto this. I'll be surprised if this kid doesn't turn out to be a kickboxing champion. Also he's still breech so I feel like he's trying to kick his way out all ready.
How are you guys able to tell if its a foot or hand or butt/head? I just feel kicks/jumps/rolling movements all over, but I'm not able to tell what I'm feeling.

With DD, I had a firm spot at the top of my belly, and it stayed more firm curving down the left side and I felt kicks in my ribs on the right. One day when I was laying in bed with hands on my belly, it just clicked and I realized the firm spot was her butt and the curve was her back (later confirmed by my doc). I've been trying to figure out this one's position based on the same things, but I can't tell so far.

Yup. I had the same thing with DD. I think I'm still probably a few weeks short of being able to tell with DS though, it's easier the bigger they get because they don't flip around as much as just wiggling as they run out of space.
I was sent to the hospital last week for unexplained weight gain, high blood pressure and spotty vision. Still running tests but so far they have only found that I have a higher level of amniotic fluid than I'm supposed to. They've ruled out pre eclampsia, so we are thankful for that. The coolest thing about the hospital visit was the monitors that they hooked me up to so that I could hear the baby's heart. Every time he would move it sounded like someone blowing into a microphone. It was crazy how much noise I'd hear, and my husband really enjoyed being able to tell when he was moving too. I definitely feel him more when I'm laying down or relaxing, which hasn't been often lately. ;-)
Ditto to everyone :-) my beautiful baby kicks all the time, i really don't know when she sleeps! Probably when I am physically active (not much these days) I thought I felt her hiccuping this morning...
How do you know they are hiccuping? I read that little flutters are their hands/finger moving around. I feel them down below and the stronger kicks/turning around towards the middle and top.
My baby girl has on and off days, just like her mom sometimes she is crazy active (i.e. yesterday) and some days she is sleepier. It definitely depends on my activity. The days where I am up and running around all day I will barely feel her until night time when I'm relaxing. Last night she was having a party - I've never felt her move so much! DH and I were just laying in bed staring at my belly watching it go up and down in waves and little punches. It was crazy! Luckily when I rolled on to my side to try and sleep she calmed down It's super fun now, but I can see this getting uncomfortable when they get bigger!
Hiccups feel like a rhythmic light kick over and over etc... My babe has had them 2x and there's like 2-3 seconds in between and seems to last over a minute. It's strange
