Re: FFFC

  • I have a first birthday I'm going to this weekend. I honestly hate birthday parties for 1 year olds. It's not so bad if it's a family members kid, but when it's a friend and you don't know their family it's kind of awkward, especially when you don't have kids yet. The other thing is some people go ALL OUT! Why spend all the money on something they won't remember?

  • I just spent 5 days on a cruise ship eating all the junk.  This morning I stopped at McDonalds for a sausage biscuit. I'm well on my way to gaining about 100 lbs this pregnancy!
  • I've had two breakfasts and may have a third. Couldn't sleep beyond 3:30 so I think 5 or 6 meals in one day seems legit.

  • I actually like the new Justin Bieber song, "love yourself."

    I'm so ashamed.

    Just keep swimming.
  • I already ate my lunch and several snacks.  Not sure how I will make it through the afternoon. #eatallthethings

  • My H needs to step up with our 2yr old. We ended up having to tell his sister Im pregnant last night because he refused to change a diaper and I ended up vomiting at the restaurant from the smell.
  • @mouse1029  +1 to @bananers Pregnant or not, Dads can change diapers too.
  • He's usually pretty good, but the flame is because I rarely ask, and he knows how I've been feeling. So he was just being an ass.
  • I wish all my daycare kiddos would wither nap at the same time or all leave early beacause I want a nap SOOOOO bad.

@mouse1029 I hope he's learned his lesson on that one, I would be putting him on full time diaper duty for the foreseeable future as penance.

My confession... I didn't have any clients the afternoon but instead of being productive I'm laying on the couch watching tv until I have to pick up DS from daycare.

    Edited for wording

  • I sent my husband out at 9pm last night because I had rejected three dinners as being vomit-inducing and the ONLY thing I would eat is McDonalds hotcakes. He made me tuna melts, soup, and a salad. Nope. Nope. Nope.

I haven't had those since I was a little kid - but hey, they stayed down, so I refuse to feel bad.

  • I feel like I have eaten so much today (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, post-lunch snack) and I'm still starving/nauseous. I just want to eat until I'm so full that I need sleep. lol

  • The most ambitious thing I have accomplished all week was going in to town to get McDonald's. Now that I'm fairly certain it's going to stay down, I'm going to take a nap.
  • I ate Chipotle for lunch and now I'm feeling regret. It just sounded so good! The baby demanded a burrito bowl, and I was powerless to resist.

None of their foodborne illness outbreaks have been in my state. And I keep telling myself that a company that is under the microscope like they are now is probably one of the safest places you could eat!  But still, I kinda feel bad for not playing it safer.
  • My OB told me to avoid sugar like it's poison, and I still have Christmas cookies. The really good, homemade, buttery kind that basically melt in your mouth. They're so tempting, so instead I had a glass of chocolate milk and one dark chocolate covered caramel, and I'm realizing I probably should have just eaten the cookies.

Why avoid sugar to that extreme?

  • Random rant because this doesn't quite fit anywhere else. I'm totally fuming at DH tonight. I was going to go with my sister to a wine and paint class thing tonight(minus the wine of course) but hubby got a bit upset because I've worked second shift all week so I decided not to go. Well about 9pm his friends call him to say their going to the bar and see if he wants to go. So we debated back and forth and I ultimately told him to go if he wanted because no one wants to be the bitchy wife. And this asshole went. Granted that I told him to go if he wanted to, but I skipped out on something to spend some time at home with him and he left. So I guess my FFFC is that I'm probably going to be "that bitchy wife" all day tomorrow. DH can suck it. End rant.
  • @bananers I hate Justin Bieber but have to admit that I like his new song too.
  • @Lynnlove28 omg so annoying!! I have no shame and would just say no I don't want you to go haha .. I like your style @Bookhousegirl - then he has no one to blame but himself when you are annoyed at him the next day lol

ThisisNumber3 -- That's a bit of hyperbole, but my OB really emphasized avoiding sugar, and she gave me several reasons why: 1) most people are getting much more sugar than they realize (it's in everything and it's not in small amounts); 2) your unborn child will get nutrients but it can't filter out excess sugar and there have been studies that link excess sugar in utero with dietary/weight problems after birth; 3) there's no nutritional value in added sugar; 4) the potential for developing gestational diabetes; and 5) eating more sugar is more likely to result in excess pregnancy weight gain which causes a more complicated delivery and excess weight gain during pregnancy has been linked to weight problems for children after birth.

Apparently, most women gain much more weight than is needed during pregnancy and it can really complicate things for both the mother and the child. (That, and a new, government study about sugar came out the day of my appointment.)

Edited to say: the end result is that now I want all the sugar....
