Is he ok

edited January 2016 in 2nd Trimester
This morning I woke up on my back and couldn't breathe because I'm overly congested. I looked on the sheet my ob gave me to see what I could take to relieve the congestion. It says mucinex reg. Was fine to take well I just looked at the packet and realized my husband gave me mucinex extra strength. I've drank a ton of water but I'm still freaking out is the baby gonna be OK since I took es? Be kind first time mommy here and I'm very overly cautious.

  • Call your Dr.

  • I did she said I'm probably ok. But I am still freaking out. This whole pregnancy I havent taken anything and the congestion got so bad I couldn't breathe.
  • baby is fine, don't worry.
  • guaifenesin is a class b which means it's safe for baby. You're fine. Baby is fine.  Even if you took a class C your fine. I'm on a lot of different medications for other health reasons, some including Class C. My high-risk OB has patients still taking Class D medications because you know, being alive is optimal for pregnancy. Don't worry about it.
  • Don't give it another thought! I know it's hard not to worry, but baby will be just fine and is lucky to have a mom who cares so much.
  • I've been taking max strength Mucinex along with Sudafed since my 18th week of pregnancy every single day (on the advice of my OB) and have had no issues.

    You'll be fine.
  • Because sometimes hearing from other people going through the same thing can provide relief and comfort....
Also, doctors and nurses aren't always 100% correct or agree with one another. For example, a nurse recently told me to not have my heart rate go above 140 when working out. This is outdated medical advice that was further debunked by a lot of fellow bumpies whose OB's told them have at it if you're already conditioned for it.

Well by all means, if people giving out their best guesses help you feel better, go for it.

Well I didn't come here to an internet forum with thousands of other pregnant ladies for the cookies, unless they're sending out cookies... did I miss cookies??
  • If your doctor is saying don't worry, don't stress over it. If you start to feel something or have any weird symptoms maybe call them back. Just drink tons of water and try to be a little more careful for the future!
  • The expert (doc) says you are fine. If there was an issue, she would let you know.
