Tall baby question

How are you keeping them warm at bedtime? Our room is chilly and I love using these Velcro swaddle sacks but hes too tall for them now. His feet reach the bottom and it doesn't cover his chest at all anymore but he's sick so I need to keep him warm. Suggestions?

Benjamin always wears footy pajamas. Most of the time he sleeps with us his legs are under the comforter but when I get him to successfully sleep in his crib or I feel especially hopeful that he's going to I put him in fleece pajamas and give him his bunny and a Muslin swaddle to snuggle under. He kicks off any other blankets!

Ditto. Ada can still use the Carters sleep sack with the sleeves but she's close to being too long in it - I just like the extra warmth of the sleeve.
  • I'm sure there are sleep sacks that will fit him.  They even make special ones for early walkers so footed pajamas and one of those would work.
  • We do the halo fleece sack and or one of those blanket sleeper things over fleeced footies! Oh and socks on his hands because that's the only way he won't wake up a million times!
  • Swaddle me does make large size Velcro swaddles. We probably are going to skip those. Since he is going to be rolling over soon. I bought a halo sleep sack. It's pretty long and should last a while.

  • I have 2 sleep sacks but he's all scrunched up in them now because he's so long but I didn't realize they made them in bigger sizes so thank you!
  • Footy pj's and halo sleep sack. I had a sleep sack like the one in ur picture and hated it after I got the halo one. They make them in different sizes and also make them that baby can have arms in or out (its kind of like a vest..u put baby's arms through and zip up. Then u can either leave arms out and velcro swaddle around body or keep arms in and velcro) if that makes any sense. I'd post a picture but I can't ever get them to post for some reason.
  • Awe! He's sooo cute!

Babies r us usually have them buy one get one 40% off. They come in xs-xl, my older kids were able to fit until they were at least 18 months.

  • We do footy pajamas and the magic Merlin, which is nice and warm. LO is 16 weeks tomorrow and he's very long/tall.

  • @chelseajeanene Halo sleep sacks and swaddles were on Zulily for almost half off if you're still looking in to getting bigger sizes!
  • We just got a 4 season Woolino - pricey (around $100), but fits 2 months to 24 months so we don't have to keep buying larger sizes. He has a Halo sleep sack at daycare.
  • We used halo sleep sacks on our first son until he was almost 2, and we found that having a tall baby (over 90th percentile) meant that we had to lower his crib mattress early. When he got to the lowest mattress setting, the sleep sacks helped to prevent him from being able to climb out of his crib by restricting his leg movements. When he went through a phase of taking his sleep sack off, we just zipped it on him backwards and it worked like a charm!
