Conflicting gestational age

I had a dr visit today because I had very light brown discharge over the weekens that freaked me out. According to my calculations and the implantation bleeding I had the week before chistmas, I should be a little over 7w. However today I had an u/s and according to that, I am 5w5d. They also said my hormone levels match with that. Could I have estimated wrong? Is it possible my baby could be measuring small?

Were you temping? That is the only way to confirm exactly when you ovulated. Very few people have actual implantation bleeding, so that's not a great determining factor.

Either way, since you are so far off the estimate, I assume you're doctor will be doing a follow up dating u/'s to confirm growth is normal? That's what happened with my dd, I was measuring a week behind my lmp edd, so they did another u/s 2 weeks later to see if she was growing on track.

At 7 weeks 2 days, I measured 5.5 weeks pregnant. It made absolutely no sense based on when I got my positive pregnancy test. They had me come back in 1 week for an ultrasound. The baby grew to 7 weeks gestationally in that time. I go back in another week to make sure.

Babies have wonky growth sometimes. I highly recommend that you request a follow up ultrasound. Growth is most important at this point

It could be that you were off... Or that all babies are different and some develop slower and will probably catch up in time.

I have my next u/s on the 28th. I wasnt temping but I thought my period had came ( and honestly every girl at works as well ) when I wiped the week before christmas. I threw a pad on, had a little more blood the next day then it stopped. Didnt think anything of it until my boob hurt didnt go away. I took my test on... The 27th and all three were positive.

I thank you all for your responses. I guess ill just see with the next u/s (forever away! 28th) im still having the light spotting but im not as freaked out. It seems like when I work both my jobs in a day, thats when it happens. However I am quitting one of them to take it easier. I definitely feel pregnant. Ive been bloated for like three weeks and having here & there nausea. In the u/s from wednesday, we saw a hb of 111, baby measuring 5w5d, and a yolk sac. It will just have to be a wait and see.
