Incision Still Painful at Times?

All the CSect ladies out there. If I lean up against the counter washing dishes, exercise, or apply lotion that brushes my incision I still get very unpleasant sensations. Anyone else experience this? I expected to be back to "normal" by now. Im 16 weeks PP.

Mine is weird too, sometimes it will feel sore or like the scar is more raised than normal. It's also randomly itchy sometimes.
  • Me too. Randomly sore and itchy but not always. I also get a sensation like I'm being poked with a needle.
  • Same here. Plus still sometimes really feeling the muscle soreness of the lower abs in that area. And it starts hurting more when I'm leaning forward too long. My ob said to expect it to be more like 6 months. Ugh.
  • Yup. I remember it being like this for my first one 6 years ago and this time is the same. Not exactly painful, but strange feeling and uncomfortable.

I am nearly 20 weeks pp and experience the same. My mom's last c-section was 22 years ago and she says she still feels some discomfort at times.
  • Yes, I've read some pain or odd sensation can last years. Mine also has a pudge of skin that sticks out over the top on one side which looks really weird, it's like a c-section muffin top!
  • I'm right there with you too...
  • I have this as well. My entire lower abdomen is still tender from the belly button down. I've also noticed if I push anything, like a laundry basket, with my feet it really hurts my pubic bone area. This is the worst and really doesn't seem normal. I have considered calling my ob just to make sure.
  • yep. and the phantom itches I can't really scratch because the skin is numb...ugh
  • Yes. 18 weeks postpartum. Doesn't happen every day but I get random twinges of pain. And the Phantom itch as pp called it lol

  • 18 weeks tomorrow and I'm still feeling it too. 2 weeks ago it actually started to hurt really bad for a day and felt like it was new again. I think the weather really effects it too. I hate that I can't fully stretch
  • Yup.m, same here. Parts of my abdomen is still sore to and it itches out of no where. lil guy likes to kick my right where my incision is too. I'm 18 weeks postpartum
  • Yes! I had a belt on yesterday and very quickly took it off after when I stood up from sitting down I had a sharp discomfort at the incision
  • Yup!  My OB said that at six weeks PP you are only about 50% and it would take at least a full year before I was 100% recovered :( I still get twinges of pain at random and when I bump into things (or things bump into me such as my 3yo LOL).
  • Sadly my incision is protected by a large flap of fatty skin (wth is this? I call it my fanny pack) so I can't really hurt it by bumping into things but I do get some random itchiness still.
