Lactose intolerace post baby?

Anyone experiencing this?? Been having GI related issues and thinking it is linked to eating dairy. Baby is EBF and doesn't seem to have any issues with my diet. Just wondering if there are any other mama's out there that have heard of this??

Re: Lactose intolerace post baby?

  • I actually had the opposite happen. I was lactose intolerant before getting pregnant. During pregnancy I was able to tolerate dairy much better. But now I am back to having issues with dairy. The same thing happened when I was pregnant with my first.

  • I became lactose intolerant when I became pregnant and it hasn't gone away post baby. Its no fun I miss being able to enjoy dairy!
  • I am intolerant to dairy post-baby aswell... boo :|
  • I have been lactose intolerant since I was a newborn. What might help is taking lactaid pills when you do eat a little dairy that will help you digest the enzyme lactase which will help eliminate your stomach ache. Try that first and you may notice over time you build up your enzymes again to tolerate dairy without the pill.
  • I gave up dairy, gluten and soy years ago due to allergies and intolerances but I wanted to add that I have been experiencing a lot of indigestion post partum. I can't imagine it's something I'm eating since I've already cut out so much, but I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this.

Same here. I seem to get a stomach ache after every larger meal. I've learned to just eat smaller meals throughout the day and it seems to help.
