My LO has had a runny nose and just recently started a little cough every now and then. Its been about 4 days and my poor LO just doesn't feel well. Do you think If I take him to the doctor they will actually do anything or just tell me to do basic things that I'm already doing? I don't want to drag him to the doctors if they are just going to tell me to do the basics.

    If he doesn't have a fever or is lethargic, they'll tell you just keep an eye on him. Tylenol if he does seem miserable or has a fever. My boy has his first cold right now too and we are staying on top of suctioning his nose and keeping him distracted.

    My daughter is at the tail end of a three week cold (congested, some coughing).  My dr just told us to use an aspirator on her nose, a humidifier while she sleeps, and vicks on her chest and feet.  There is not much else to do while they're so tiny.
