Mad at hubby!

So I'm an EP'er since DS was about a month old (a true labor of love!) I'm able to keep up with DS needs but just barely.

Well I drop him off and hubby picks him up. When packing up his diaper bag this morning what do I find? 6 ounces of milk that has gone bad! I cried in frustration and anger, it makes me feel like he dosent care about how hard I work to feed our son. And he has no excuse to forget that it's in there he picks him up from his mothers house who would've told him there was extra that he would need to refrigerate

Re: Mad at hubby!

  • I completely relate to this! There are many times my hubby reminds me it's just not as important to him. Every single drop is so important if he had done that I would've flipped!!!

Six ounces is A LOT! I'm so sorry! I would have been livid. I can relate to some degree. Whenever I've pumped 1-2 ounces, my husband will say it's not worth keeping because it's so little. That always makes me furious. Every drop is gold and if I went through the effort of pumping, it's worth keeping. We've also gone on road trips and my husband always insists I pack an extra bottle for the car ride. So I'll thaw out the pumped milk and bring it in the car. Sure enough, LO sleeps and doesn't need the extra bottle. This has happened on 3 occasions! Then it spoils by the time we can get wherever we're going. Even when it's in a cooler, we don't feel comfortable using it because it's been so long. I'm sorry that happened to you. I guess if it doesn't directly affect them, they don't realize how hard it is on us.
  • I remember my MIL heating an entire 4oz bottle because she thought my first was still hungry. He didn't touch it because he had just had 4 oz. I completely flipped on her.
  • Six ounces was a miracle for me. I'd cry to. And then hit something. Probably my husband LOL.
  • Oh man I would be pissed! I'm right there with you too. I'm back to EP pumping now and can just barely keep up with DD needs. Struggling to have any extra too. DH was just like, you're not pumping enough, why aren't you pumping every two hours?? I honestly wanted to slap him. Not as easy as it sounds when I have to be out and about running errands too!!
  • 6oz? I would of freaked out! >:)
