Anyone tried using a fetal doppler yet?

I used one my last pregancy in the early stages when you cant feel baby yet and loved it. My new one came in the mail today and i found baby after a few minutes. I'm 9 weeks and 1 day

  • That's really early! That's great!

  • I used mine that I had from my last pregnancy on Sunday at 9 weeks and was unable to find the heart beat. But I didn't put much work into it. It took me a while to find it with my last. I might try again today. When I can't find it, it does make me worry. But I know it's still early also.
  • I don't use them for the reason @MrsBSharp86 stated - if I came find the heartbeat, I worry. A lot. Not worth it to me, imo.

  • I'm going to start around 12 weeks.
  • I have one from last pregnancy. Too early (I'm only 7 weeks) to try. I would just get worried when I couldn't find it. I loved having one last time tho. It's such a stress reliever when u think something might be wrong.
  • I've already started using mine. I think I heard the baby's heartbeat but I wasn't 100% sure. I'm going to try again in another week or so.

  • I've been waiting to try mine! I used it with my son & loved it! I'm 8w4d so thinking I'll start looking at 9 but won't get worried for a couple of weeks.
  • I'm considering getting one this time, I didn't last time.  My midwife found the HB on a doppler last time around 9w, and I'll be 9w this week.  That said, even if I had a doppler I don't think I'd be brave enough to try to find the hb yet - if I couldn't find it I'd be freaking the F out!  I also have a lot more skin and yucky stuff in the way that never shrunk back from last time, so that might also make it more difficult to find.  Nope, typing this out just made my decision for me lol....not doing it, at least for a while.  Last time I started feeling baby move around 16 weeks, and they say you can usually feel it sooner in later pregnancies since you know what you're feeling - so maybe it won't be all that much longer anyway

  • What kind do you guys have? I have looked online but I haven't been impressed with the reviews I read.

I have a Sonoline B made by Contec.
  • I just tried the doppler again and was able to find our little nugget at 9w2d!! It's so reassuring hearing the heart beat :)
  • I'm a nurse and I teach at a College of Nursing. We have several dopplers. I have a feeling I'm going to be obsessively listening when I go back to work on Monday!

  • Yes it's still very early so if you feel like you would panic if you dont find a heartbeat it's probably best to wait a few weeks
  • @bunfactory i have the soline b i used it with my last pregancy, i love it!
  • I found it at 9 weeks last pregnancy with a Sonoline B. I tested it out the day we had our ultrasound because I figured I wouldn't freak too much if I couldn't find it since we had just seen the HB via u/s that day.

This pregnancy we're getting weekly ultrasounds through first tri so I probably won't bust out the Doppler until we graduate from the RE and I start feeling insecure without my weekly check-in.
