New onset vomiting

Hi All,

Hope you're Tuesday is treating you well. I am 13+5 today. I have had mild nausea during my first trimester and only 1 episode of vomiting that whole time. Then last night I got home, took my prenatal and started to eat dinner. Several bites in I had instant vomiting (no nausea preceding it). I have no fever, no other symptoms. It just unnerved me given I've had very little in the way of vomiting and am now in/near the 2nd trimester! I'm calling my OB today but just wondering if anyone's had the same experience? Wondering if it could have been by PNV but haven't had that issue before?

Thanks!

Re: New onset vomiting

  • With my first pregnancy, I didn't have any morning sickness until week 13 or 14 and then BAM! Throwing up without warning. It eased up in about a month. Just my experience. Let us know what your OB says!

  • Actually, something similar... I am 13+1 today, and also had only mild nausea (no vomiting at all) during first trimester. Yesterday after a smoothie I started feeling nauseous to the point of lying down, I haven't felt that way in weeks! Maybe it was just hard to digest (haven't exactly been eating healthily the last few weeks...maybe the kale was a shock, hah) but it surprised me too. Hope it's nothing but do post if your doctor says anything. Thanks!
  • I experienced nausea during week 5 and 6, then it completely went away. Now that I am in week 11, I have started to feel nauseous/ gagging again. I assume MS can come in waves.
  • It started happening with me at 12 weeks. Take your prenatal at a different time, it can help.
  • First few weeks I've been fine too, tired (of course!) But just mild nausea and no throwing up. Then I hit 11 weeks and had two really horrible days (although still no throwing up but close!) I missed my prenatal one of those days so I think that had something to do with it... I'm 11 weeks and 3 days and feeling a bit better today.

  • My first pregnancy it didn't hit me until 10 weeks. I think I had jinxed myself because it happened literally days after an appointment that I had told my midwife I was feeling great.

This time around, I've been throwing up since week 3. I did have a one week break and I thought my symptoms were going away, but it came back.
  • I had terrible all day nausea and vomiting from weeks 6-12. Now my nausea is completely gone, but I vomit without warning sometimes. Luckily I heave once or twice before anything comes up so I can grab my trashcan quickly.
  • Well I've been sick from week 6-now and its been terrible so consider yourself lucky you have avoided it for so long for the few that it's leaving for. I've never had it be caused by my pnv though I think the triggers vary for everyone hard candy has been my friend though
