Scarring at the Cervix from D&C

Well once again, I was starting to get all cocky that things were moving along, AF would be here soon and H and I would be TTC again this month. This weekend, I started feeling crampy, with no bleeding and then yesterday I was in terrible pain. I went to the doctor who checked my cervix and I screamed because it was so painful. The u/s today showed fibroids, which did not concern my Dr too much and a pool of fluid. Because the lining was so thin and I've been temping and expecting AF, it leads her to believe that there is scarring around my cervix from the D&C. She wants to do a procedure where she pokes out the scar tissue. Has anyone had this done? I asked her about scarring elsewhere and she didn't seem too concerned, she thinks that it's localized at the cervix. I'm okay with skipping TTC this month. I was thinking that it might be a good idea to heal a bit more, but I am really worried that there will be the need for more surgery and more waiting. And of course, the possibility and not be able to keep another pregnancy. Has anyone else been through this?

    I haven't been through that, but I wanted to say I am so sorry to hear you're dealing with this! I hope it's a relatively easy fix and that you will no longer have discomfort or issues afterwards! This didn't come up at your surgery follow up appointment? Ugh. I feel for you!

    Thank you ladies!! I'm really trying hard not to be discouraged and to focus on the importance of my body healing before moving forward. The good news is that my ovaries looked good and hormones tests came back normal. I know that I should get pregnant again.

    I'm wondering if having this issue will make me a high-risk pregnant lady and get me in earlier and often for betas and ultrasounds? I'm trying to see the silver lining.

    @chloe97 that just sounds so painful, I'm so sorry you're experiencing more trouble after your D&C. Keep us posted and let us know if you have the scar tissue removed. Hopefully it doesn't add any extra time to your TTC journey!

    Hallelejuah!! I started bleeding tonight!! I was supposed to go into my doctor for her to poke out the scar tissue tomorrow to let out the blood and it worked out itself. I've never been so happy to bleed in my life!

    I'm not sure what this means for next steps. They still may want to look at the scarring, but I was reading that a lot of women with scarring at the cervix get it from vaginal delivery. It doesn't necessarily mean trouble TTC or even miscarriage. The biggest concern is labor progression and a few weeks before the due date. As H said "We'll deal with that when we get there!"

    We still will probably wait another cycle, but maybe not if we get the ok from the doctor. We will see!

    @chloe97 that's great news that your problem sorted itself naturally!!! And hopefully you can move forward normally - I've never heard or read anything about scar tissue there so I can't back up your research at all, but I'm glad things are moving in a positive direction! Good luck and FX for you this cycle (or next if that's what you choose)!!

    @chloe97 I am sorry to hear about your obstacles and it sounds painful. :( But it is good to hear your body is naturally doing the job. Keep us update on the next step. Best of luck and take care.
