The 40+ week post is dated... anyone else still pregnant? I'm going in for induction tonight (thank God!) at 41w+1. Any induction advice from the other side? So ready to meet this boy or girl.
Super exciting, try to sleep while your body is progressing, as hard as that is because they are checking you so much. I ended up leaving the hospital with insomnia because I hadn't slept while I was there.
Congratulations! I don't know if you are trying to go natural (I wanted to so badly) but I would say take the epidural as soon as they let you. I held out until 7 cm and wish I had gotten it at 3 because then I could have slept through the night to have energy for the pushing! I hope you have a happy induction experience, I did and wish I would have listened when people say it's not that bad!
I had amazing induction! I got the epidural before they broke my water at 4cm. I can honestly say I had a pain free labor. There was some intense pressure but no pain. If you are planning an epidural, get it as soon as you can!
No experience with induction but just wanted to send well wishes! And to say I'm a little jealous haha I wish I could experience my daughter's birth again. It was an amazing experience! Sending good vibes for an easy labor
I was having contractions and mild bleeding which they said was normal and I was at 2cm they had me walk for about an hour an 30 min I was still at 2cm they called my doctor and he decided to just induce me there I started to feel intensive contractions once I hit 4cm I asked for epidural when I hit about 6 I started to feel again every contraction was very painful and intensive couldn't handle It I was having severe back pain and pelvis pain I had called the anesthesiologist and they said my epidural had moved out of place and they offered me an epi again off curs I said yes and about 8cm I started again feeling every pain it was sever like about a 10 of pain and I calledthe anesthesiologist again and she said "I'm sorry that's all we can do for you " I was so scared after that I felt everything water breaking till my baby arrived I had just first degree tear . Not all are the same we are different but honestly I'm so happy how my labor went best experience ever once you meet baby you forget every pain well , at least I did I felt in love ! Hope you have an easy labor good luck to you . Remember not every labor is the same that was just my experience:)
41+2 today and less than 24 hours out from my scheduled induction and I've been having contractions all night. Inconsistent but 45 seconds long and every 6-12 mins. Hoping against hope that this is the real thing!!
@Alyssaerin996 Good luck!! I am now on my third day in the hospital trying to induce due to very low fluid. They did cervidil the first day and I was having contractions a minute and a half apart for hours. They stopped it early. Got to 2 cm. The second day we did pitocin all day and nothing happened. Now, I have the balloon catheter thingy in. I do not know what the day holds but we are feeling beat at this point and ready for a baby already! Good luck to the other mommas facing induction-- I hope it's speedy!
Still pregnant as well! Being induced tonight because I'm 41+5 This baby is stubborn!!! I wanted so badly to go naturally and labor at home and then go to the hospital. But plans change, they are starting both cervadil and I hope that that is all i need to get baby going! Scared to death being a FTM of being induced. Hope all goes well for you!
Good luck @NewMom42 and @xmasbaby15 !! My labor stalled unfortunately after 12 hours. I feel very defeated and sad. Looks like it will be induction for me in the morning.
Hospital was jam packed tonight. No room for me to be induced. Looks like morning tomorrow sometime. Prayers baby wants out sooner than that and I'll start labor on my own tonight! Maybe this happened for a reason?!?
Good luck ladies,2days til my induction and really disappointed in my body, still hoping for a natural labor but I don't think it will happen, baby will be soo worth it though.
Update ladies At hospital now. Cervidil has been in for 2 hours. Contracting on and off. Hoping it will be enough to put me into actual labor. I really don't want pitocin Good luck to all of you!
@xmasbaby15 I was really scared of induction and stalled at 9cm, they gave pitocin from there and it went okay! Good luck! baby soon Edit: I know I shared my birth story and it was not ideal but had nothing to do with pitocin.
Still no baby! Just started pitocin now! Water broke on its own at 345pm 1/7 Hoping to just be on it for a bit only to put me into labor. Come'on baby!!! We want to meet you
happy to report that Emma Noelle was born 1/8 at 730 pm. 27 hours start to finish!!! Cervadil and pitocin. But no pain meds!!! So happy to be done! And mommy and baby are healthy and happy.
Re: Am I the last one??
Congratulations!! My induction was awesome. I was so ready to meet my little guy and I'm sure you are too!
