DS is 3.5 months now and I seriously have no way to tell if he's hungry. He has reflux so he just basically always acts like he wants to eat. So I can't ever tell if he needs to eat until he's on my boob and eats.
My LO will turn his head towards my boob when he is ready to eat, stick his hand in his mouth or suck on lip. He eats his hands nonstop now so that cue no longer works but if he is fussy I will put him near my chest and if he is hungry he turns his head to eat. I've tried to listen to his cries as well and have figured out which one is the hunger cry.
My LO also turns towards the boob and makes a distinct cry/cough. I can't really tell what any of his other cries mean but I do know his hunger one. It's like a "heh heh" sound. I've read this elsewhere too so it must be somewhat common?
