Numb thigh?

Hello Ladies, I've actually been in the January Mums group up until my Sebastian decided to arrive three weeks early.
Now, I tried searching but couldn't find anything about this, my question is has anyone else had a numb patch on their thigh after giving birth? It's been just over a week and it is still numb, I read somewhere that epidurals can cause numbness afterwards but I didn't have an epidural so I'm not quite sure if it's normal.

Re: Numb thigh?

  • Have you contacted your doctor? Maybe it is nerve damage? Idk. Hope it gets resolved soon!

I asked the midwife that came to visit after we came home and she said it might have something to do with the shot they give after birth to help with the uterus shrinking but she wasn't too sure. I have a GP appointment tomorrow so I'll probably ask her as well. I was just curious if this had happened with anyone else.
  • Not on my thigh, but I had one on my knee. I'm 4 weeks pp now, and that's completely gone - leg is back to normal! Hope yours does the same thing!

  • This happened with my first. The outer part of my left thigh stayed numb for a few months but I regained full feeling. I had my epidural for 12 hours before he was actually born.
