Probably picked the wrong TV show to get addicted to...

I've just starting watching "The Knick" on Cinemax with Clive Owen. Fantastic show, but probably picking a show with graphic medical situations, many involving pregnant women and babies in a time period with much less sophisticated medical care, was a poor choice. DH and I were both off from Christmas Eve until today so we starting watching it and I'm hooked but it's also giving me lots of freak outs. God help me if I need a c section...

    During first trimester I watched all of Call the Midwives...also a bad decision that I couldn't tear myself away from, haha. Yay modern medicine!

    I started watching Jane the Virgin (which I've successfully finished every episode) and it's been a hilarious little side-by-side pregnancy show to watch.

    My husband won't let me watch medical shows pregnant haha. I had to sneak Grey's Anatomy behind his back. He is convinced it will bring those issues upon us. So I switched to crime dramas and now he's convinced our daughter will be a serial killer. I mean what else is there?? Haha. If I switched to romantic stuff he'd be convinced she's going to be promiscuous :D

    @amargaret24 I just started marathoning JtV this week, I'm literally watching it RIGHT now (15 eps in). About 4 weeks left until my due date and no work means a lot of Netflix time, haha

    @Leah6120 haha! I could watch Dateline Real Life Mysteries and 48 Hours Hard Evidence alllllll day. It's like Nancy Drew for the grown up me!

    ...and it completely freaks out my SO. He insists I'm going to become a murderer. Thanks, hunny! *eye roll*

    Otherwise, I've been totally hooked on all the medical shows too. Code Black, anyone? So good.

    Omg it's so good! I couldn't find season two when I was in the thick of it so I purchased each episode on amazon, oops! I just started watching The Royals, I can't even... it's so bad it's good. My fiance just looks at me like I've actually lost my mind. If you have Amazon Prime, Mozart in the Jungle is super good too. We watched both seasons in like, two days haha.

    @amargaret24 Someone else recently recommended Mozart in the Jungle too, it's definitely on my list.

    We started watching Person of Interest - pretty good! Helps get my mind off pesky false labor!

    Love Jane the Virgin...I need to find season 2! And "Call the Midwife??" It's one of my favorites! For those who like the "true crime" stuff, check out the documentary "Making a Murderer" on Netflix. It is SO GOOD! DH and I end every night watching it in bed.

    @BabyArnold2016 I just finished up Criminal Minds and I miss it!! Yes to the weird dreams haha. I have moved on to Bones. It's similar but slightly lighter I think.

    @Leah6120 DH and I LOVED Bones at first...but then it started to get a bit dumb and formulaic...like most shows seem to get after too many seasons, alas. But the first few seasons are fun :)

    I loved Call the Midwife too, and recently re-binged on Grey's Anatomy. But I did make myself stay way from Private Practice, I'm sure that would be a terrible show right now!

    Ugh The Knick is such a good show but you're right, it's not easy to watch at all while pregnant (like the first episode??). It makes me amazed that women could even live through childbirth in those days! The 2nd season was good too, still graphic but not as bad.

    Anyone watch Fargo? Season 1 is on Hulu and it's SO good. Season 2 just finished airing, amazing.

    Season two of Jane the Virgin is on Hulu (and you can do a free week or two to try) and on Amazon Prime TV. ;)

    We watched "The Hours" last night about a dad who has to keep his preemie alive during hurricane Katrina. Not the best choice of movies. But it was good.

    Thanks, @amargaret24! I just finished season 1 last week, and haven't even tried to find season 2. I have Hulu, so I'll definitely be checking that out tonight!!

    ccoleeman  LOVE Fargo! And yes, episode 1 of the Knick was the hardest for sure! But the storyline with the baby with meningitis was really rough too!

    Has anyone seen "Making a Murderer" on Netflix yet? My friend has been raving about it saying that I'll especially love it as I'm a Serial fanatic.

    Started watching making a murderer last night and man it is good!!!! I am also one of those who could watch snapped, 48hrs and dateline all day! My husband also tells me one day I'll end up a serial killer but I just find murder mysteries are fascinating! Lol
