On New Year's Eve I woke up feeling like when my water broke with my older DD, and when I got up blood poured everywhere. I soaked through two pads an hour for two hours, and had terrible cramping. I thought for sure I had miscarried and was devastated, but when I went into my on the next morning they found my LO on the US, looking good with a heart rate of 167. After bursting out crying, I heard the tech say "subchorionic hemorrhage." I was so relieved, but the dr I saw was not very optimistic, and suggested I still have a 50% chance of miscarrying.
After doing a ton of research and joining an online support group, I am seeing that this is fairly common, so I thought it would be nice to see if anyone else in our birth club has been diagnosed with this.
My hematoma is 5 cm, which is considered quite large (it's all in comparison to the baby), and I've been on bedrest since New Years hoping the bleed will heal.
Anyone else in this kind of scary club?
Re: Subchorionic hemorrhage 8w3d- anyone else?
This is my 5th pregnancy (two losses, two live births), and once again I had a large hematoma at 7 weeks, it seems to have disappeared at 7.5 weeks after again starting progesterone suppositories (fx it doesn't reappear!) Oddly enough, with my two losses, I did not have the hematomas...
I hope this helps and good luck!
*ETA: grammar
This pregnancy I've had one every time we have gone for a sono, mine is fairly small but it's there.
When pregnant with DD I had one that was larger and caused a lot of spotting. I was put on pelvic rest and low activity they asked for me to keep my feet up as much as possible.
I say just keep your feet up and relax until your next visit. Stay positive!
It can be so scary though which is hard!
I wish I had something super positive to tell you, but just know there are others out there going through the same thing so you have support and understanding.
Any of you ladies out there have experience with SCH's and twins?
Did they tell you about pelvic rest? My OB said no sex no lifting and just very light activity (walking etc).
