Period stops in the middle for a day?

Hi ladies,

I've noticed this after my first m/c, and I'm now having my first period since my second m/c - after two days of heavy (yet normal-ish) flow, AF just stops dead in its tracks for about a day.
Then, after feeling like a constipated feeling and finally using the bathroom (sorry, tmi), AF came back. Not just spotting, but light flow.

Anyone have a similar experience?

My periods were so consistent over the years. I worry about a hormone imbalance perhaps.

I'm sorry I've never had an experience like that, or even heard of someone else having anything similar.

You could always check with the doctor and get your hormones tested and see but it's normal to have a few wonky cycles after a MC. Best of luck figuring out your period and that you get your rainbow baby soon!

I'm sorry, I have no advice here. Maybe try calling the nurses line at you OB and see if they think it's something worth an office visit? I call my nurses line whenever I have a question and they're usually very good about it.

@meighanbrock Thank you!!! Once I get betas and ultrasounds done I will feel better. Until then I'm a nervous wreck (and trying not to be).

I don't have the exact same experience, but my periods are kind of weird since getting off bc. They are super short and light. 2 days spotting and 2 light flow. I have gotten pregnant twice (ended in mc) and my doctor isn't worried. I have gotten tested and everything seems normal, but I can't help to think that weird periods could be an indication that something is up. Please keep me updated on what your doctor says.

I've actually had what you're describing, but it's not mc- related for me. It's strange, but sometimes when I take Advil the day I start my period for bad cramps, it just stops. It comes back a day or so later, but I've never been able explain it. It's one reason that I try not to take Advil unless I'm in horrible pain.

You aren't alone, @Megsbrock! - I think I'm having my first AF after MC right now and it is odd. Yesterday I had a very light flow (but more than spotting) and today it is just gone. It is perfect timing for AF, so I do think that is what it is, but it is just weird. I'm wondering what is up, because I never had THAT much bleeding with MC (it was just like a normal period, but lasted a little longer). I was expecting my first AF to be extra bad, but nope! I normally have light periods anyway, so I'm just going to chalk it up to a wacky cycle.
