2 month shots-recovery

How long did it take your LO to shake the aftermath of their first set of vaccines?  My DS had his shots Wednesday.  That day he slept a lot, the next day as well and while awake was fussy.  Friday was the same.  The last 2 days he has been awake a lot, eating a ton and although we see some smiles, he's a lot more fussy than his usual happy self.  More fussy in the afternoon and evening.  We have checked his temperature and he's not running a fever but he seems cool and clammy.  Dr Google was a very bad idea....
Could we be hitting a growth spurt?  Has anyone else had a clammy baby?  He usually has clammy hands and feet, but not head, neck and face.

Re: 2 month shots-recovery

  • My LO had a fever the day of and the day after shots. The day he got his shots he didn't sleep at all was up every hour crying hysterically. Next day was better but still not the same. I think it took about three to four days after the shots to be his normal self again.

Have you tried some baby Tylenol? I remember how sore my arm was after I got the tdap. I imagine it's worse for our little ones. We are doing the dr. Sears extended shot schedule, so she only got one shot (tdap and the oral rotavirus) and she seemed fussy for a day or so. We used a little Tylenol and that seemed to help.

  • The day after my son just slept a bit more but after that he was normal.  I would definitely tell your doctor about any concerns.

  • Infant Tylenol. My LO was extra sleepy but the little time that she was awake to eat and change she was so fussy and she hated me touching her legs. Tylenol at least took the edge off and we were able to snuggle and she could fall asleep a little easier.
  • My lo had his two month shots last Tuesday. That whole day he was extremely tired and barely wanted to eat which is unusual for him. The next day he was back to his normal self though, but around Saturday he started going through a growth spurt and still is, he turned 9'weeks on Thursday.
