I am curious because my 2 month old only feeds 6 times a day (ebf) and according to what I have read...thats less often than she should be! She is gaining weight fine and happy, never even gets to cry from hunger since I tend to catch the early cues.
But I just want to know what other bf babies are doing.
We almost EBF... He eats usually eats 7x per day. He nurses at roughly 5am, 7am, 10am, 1:00pm, 4:00pm 6:00pm... Then daddy gives him a bottle around midnight.
We are down to between 6-8 times per day as well at 10 weeks, EBF. I also thought it didn't seem like enough times but other than increasing overnight feeds (we have only 1 between 8-6 or 7 on most nights) I don't see where to fit them in as she already eats every 2 hours or so during the day and shows no signs that she isn't getting enough.
Now that my little man is sleeping long stretches at night, he only nurses 6 times a day. Sometime they don't even seem like great feedings, but he is gaining weight and has plenty of wet diapers.
Right now we are doing 8 (3 ounces each) under doctors orders. We had been doing larger bottles fewer times a day (less than 6) because it kept her from spitting up to space them out further. But once she gets her weight gain going better I'd like to have it be around 6-7 because I have to wake her up to get 8 feedings in and she has been a bear cretain times a day when she wants to keep sleeping.
8-10 times. EBF. Although I have noticed he is feeding so less time. And my body doesn't seem to be adjusting to him eating less. So I feel engorged and have to pump semi frequently. But he is gaining weight and has plenty of wet and dirty diapers. So I guess he's getting enough to eat.
