Postpartum uterus

So I was feeling my belly. I'm 3 days pp and my uterus is very hard but it seems to be pushed to the right side. My bladder isn't full. Normal? Concerning?

Call your doc, but it is a muscle that is still contracting down to its normal size. This can be especially noticeable by touch or in the form of cramping when your breastfeeding since that can speed the process of healing.

Edited to add, I'm 4 days pp and I can still feel my fundal height and it's sensitive to touch. I did have bleeding issues after delivery though.

  • I'm three weeks pp and can still feel it as well. Also very bloated. This is why after delivery, they recommend 6 weeks before any sexual activities, exercise or returning back to work, so our bodies can be completely healed.
  • Some other lovely issues PP. I have a partial prolapsed uterus. Ugh...hope it corrects itself through the healing process. Oh the joys of motherhood.
  • Check with doctor but to me a hard uterus was normal. Now Im 5 weeks PP almost and it has considerably gone down. However I am breastfeeding and at my 2 weeks Doc said I was healing great because of that.

  • My doc specifically asked me if baby was normally laying to my right because my uterus was sugnificantly lopsided once she was born. It's adjusted now (5 days ppd) but I could feel it for a few days more swollen on the right side.
