Anyone else going through this as we all are in the final count down?

I have 3wks left till my due date and I will not be going past that since I am a VBAC.
well, I have started to become obsessed with how much the baby moves and freak out if I go a few days with him move less then he did before. I also am starting to cry when all these wonderful late 3rd trimester symptoms act up. ( extremely uncomfortable sleeping, increased indigestion/constipation, shortness of breath, itching) to much to name it all. Long story short. I am a STM and want this over. I really can't get around anymore.
Anyone else feeling this way?

  • I got this way the other night when I didn't feel much movement...mainly because when I was pregnant with DD #1 I notice a major decrease in movement....and ended up with and emergency csection that day! They said it was a good thing I had paid attention because she was all tangled up in her umbilical cord!
  • This is me, too. I get paranoid when he has lazier days, even though I always get 10 kicks in an hour. The other day I was paranoid because he was moving TOO much, which I've read can be a sign of distress. I even called my doctor. He calmed down, though. Probably was just mad that I was sneezing and coughing nonstop. I've definitely shed some frustrated tears, too. You aren't alone!

  • @abbiemae98 was she slowing down for a few days in a row ?
It is scary. I guess the best thing to do is call when or if we feel worried. That is what they get paid the big bucks for? I am thinking of calling tomorrow if he continues to be on the lazy side.
  • I definitely worry. My little lady has always had subtle movements, which makes me worry more because I don't always notice her shifting! But every week I hear her on the doppler, so I guess all is well.

  • I had several hours of panic last night when my LO was snoozing. I kept drinking water, laying down, and trying not to cry as I waited for kicks. (It doesn't help that DH works nights, so I didn't have anyone to talk me down from this.)

In the end, I took a Benadryl to make myself sleep, and woke up a few hours later to the sweetest little hiccups in my belly.

My theory is that I'm getting anxious about her arrival (scheduled section this Friday), and it's causing me to be overly paranoid about everything else. Not sure what the answer is on this one, except just trying to relax and refusing to read anything scary or sad online!
  • I was in triage Wednesday because at my non stress test my babies heart rate was decreasing slightly with my contractions. They sent me to be monitored for 2 hours then discharged me saying baby looked beautiful. Today I have been so incredibly busy I haven't noticed baby move much so I've been extra worried since the scare on Wednesday. Now that I'm finally in my pj's and relaxing for the night baby is moving a good bit. I'm still anxious for my ultrasound on Monday and my next NST on Wednesday. I'm just ready for him to get here so I can have different worries. Lol!!!
  • I'm feeling this exactly. I'm so worried about movement lately and I've been super emotional about these late 3rd tri symptoms, especially sleep, which of course makes everything worse when I can't sleep.
  • Yes- I'm booked in for a csection in like 38 hours- not that I'm counting- ;) freaking out about labour signs- freaking out about lack of movement. I'm really anxious which is not ideal as I need sleep tonight!!!
  • Ugh I hate the biophysical profile. It'll make you freak out over everything!! Our guy passed the ultrasound portion with ease but he was tired afterward and always wants to nap. It's hard to get him excited enough to get the heart rate jumping. He will move around like crazy but won't get his heart rate up high enough in the process. I hate that test.
  • @maureenmce I think I read the same story as you and it had the same effect on me. Also, I had a sleepless night 2 nights ago and randomly picked 2 movies on Netflix, both of which ended up having some type of infant loss in them. I feel like I've been going crazy thinking of worst case scenarios and I know it is not healthy.

The baby must find me incredibly annoying because when I don't feel him for a while I literally just shake my belly and poke at his bum side. He wakes up, probably annoyed. But I sure feel relieved!! It's harder for them to move in general because there is such a lack of space but I understand the paranoia. I finally got comfortable the other night and I'm sure out of pure irony, I started freaking out cuz I couldn't feel the baby moving. So naturally I did my little baby monitoring routine, woke myself up, and couldn't get comfy the rest of the night. Oi!!!!

I was terribly scared in the first 12 weeks for miscarriage, bored in the middle, and scared in the last 12 weeks for stillborn! I've done my best to stay calm though. Can't help it sometimes.
  • @maureenmce I also read the same story. So very sad! One of the saddest things I have ever read.

@cameronreed and @SBH041815 - Yep, we must've read the same story.  It was just the most heartbreaking, devastating thing - my heart just aches for that poor woman and her family.  I have tried to put it out of my mind for now and, if I do think about it, think about how statistically rare something like that would be.  (But logic doesn't always trump emotion at this stage in the game, sadly!)

But anyway, we're almost there, ladies!  So close to the pregnancy worries being over and, as my mama friends like to say, a whole new set of worries appearing!  ;)
  • The one thing that really makes my baby move are smoothies (kale, spinach, apple cider, lemon, strawberry super cold)-- works every time. Also @maureenmce my baby's patterns are not regular - she has slow days followed by crazy days.
  • My little girl sleeps in so if I haven't felt her by 10am & in feeling nervous then I shake her up. She's very responsive to belly thumps & vibrations. So within a minute or two she'll kick, punch or shift in response to my shake up. She's funny.
  • Totally- This is my third and I've never felt the whole"I'm so over being pregnant" thing but this time I am SO THERE. Ways more uncomfortable this time than the other two times, plus I'm naturally anxious so I hear you about freaking out over every little thing!
