Insane stomach/intestinal issues???

Sorry for TMI people but is anyone else having this? I've had diarrhea and intense gas since yesterday coupled with insanely loud stomach rumblings. No fever or anything and I feel fine otherwise. I'm drinking lots of water but eating is tough so I haven't had much in the last two days. Anyone else had this and found anything to help? Also I'm guessing I don't need to call my doctor unless it's clear I'm getting dehydrated or the diarrhea gets out of control but just checking.

Re: Insane stomach/intestinal issues???

  • I go through bouts of this. Gas X helps with the gas. Keep drinking the water and staying hydrated.

  • I have had the worst gas pains over the last few days. I went for a nice long walk today which helped temporarily but the pain is already back.
  • D can be a sign of labor, but at 36+1 it's probably not in your case. I had the same and just had to ride it out. Call your doctor if you have more than 10 bm's in a day, otherwise, it just sucks, keep up fluids.

  • I've currently got the opposite problem. Wanna trade?

This! I will have D for like 3 days, and then I am constipated for a week. It is absurd, pick one body!!

  • Had this yesterday...
  • Had this for past 3 weeks now & more as I get closer to due date. My doc says its normal to have loose bowels at this stage of the pregnancy, it means you're nearing labor.
  • Ugh this has been me today. I had diarrhea earlier felt a little better. Ate some cereal and toast and got sick a little bit later. 36w1d today. Not sure if it's the burger I ate today, the kids museum we went to today or something else. Just feel awful. Ugh
  • I pretty much have to rush to the restroom after each meal for the past week. I think it's normal because the bowels are so squished and can be a sign labor is near. I bought some Gatoraide to help stay hydrated and am feeling thankful it's not the opposite problem which I had with my first baby.
  • Thanks for the replies- still feeling rough but following everyone's advice. Glad I'm not the only one but of course sorry others are dealing with it too!

  • I've been battling this for about a week :( at least it is tapering off so I only get the gas cramps, but it still makes me run to the bathroom thinking there will be something! I wasn't sure if it was all the holiday food or just the joys of pregnancy since my daughter has had some bad diapers this week as well.
  • Have any of you had menstrual like cramps with the stomach issues? I was having them a little bit at night but last night was the worst as they woke me up and stuck around for a while and I still have them when I woke up this morning.

No contractions yet, at least I haven't felt any yet?

  • try aloe water to sooth your upset stomach and coconut water to replenish electrolytes - that always works for me. Can find both at Trader Joe's.
  • Thanks for the tips. Doctor thinks cramps were related to my stomach issues. Felt silly calling because I know the cramps aren't labor related but just wanted to make sure baby is ok.
