First food experiences

My Lil one is 15 wks. She has been teething bad so I bought a feeder teether. So far I've put frozen halved grapes and a piece of apple in it. She seems to love it.

She doesn't really eat any of it though just chews and sucks on it enough to taste it I think. How did you start introducing food? I've thought about starting with the rice cereal in the night time bottle but I don't want to make her constipated.

Re: First food experiences

  • At Christmas (LO was 14 weeks) I let him try just a taste of sweet potatoes. He kept grabbing at my plate and getting fussy when I pulled him away from them. I'm definitely going to start him on some solids at 4 months. I know it's super common now to wait until 6 months, but it's what I want to do. He is more than ready to enjoy some yummy foods.

I won't be doing any rice cereal. I don't think it's necessary at all (unless baby has reflux).

  • Skipping the rice cereal and going straight to vegetables at 4 months. My DD has been interested in food for about a month now, reaching for it and opening her mouth. I think she's ready in two weeks to start. She also tried to take my glass of water the other day. I out the glass to her mouth and she put her hand on it and took a sip! She was so happy it was so adorable!
