Hello, all. I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself since I've been hanging out on the February 2016 board for this pregnancy.
I'm a 29 year old FTM in the Pacific Northwest. I was due on Valentine's Day with our two girls, but Baby A decided to start kicking her way out at midnight on December 23rd. Labor went really quickly (and painfully), but A was still breech so I had an emergency c-section. Gwendolyn Marie was born at 3:05am at 3lbs 1oz and 16 inches long and sister Penelope Rose was born at 3:06am at 3lbs 9oz and 16 inches long. Both are in the NICU and slowly but surely growing and getting healthy.
It took me a bit to come to terms with being a December Mommy, but I'm happy to be here with you all.
Welcome. So sorry about the nicu stay. Our twins came a month early and spent a couple of weeks there, definitely not the best of times. However, it helped us learn a LOT of information and helped us ease into parenthood. Make sure you are taking some time away from the nicu to refuel yourself. It's very stressful and draining to have them there and not home. Calling it an early night once a week to relax at home was always a good idea for us.
Congrats!! I hope your girls get big and healthy quickly so you can all go home!! Take good care of yourself, I know how hard it is to be away from them but they will get great care in the NICU.
