  I POAS all this time with no shame.  I recently just peed on $30 and got freaked out until I realized it was the hook effect.  It took me one part pee to three parts water to get a line that was darker than the control again.  I then wasted a few digitals with a little pee and a lot of water and still got 3+.  Like I said, I seem to have no shame.

  Basically when your hcg gets too high a home hpt gets overloaded and can't read it anymore, even yielding false negatives early in pregnancy.

  From what I read the hook effect doesn't happen with everyone. Also, what is normal for hcg for everyone is different. Whether you experience the hook effect or not doesn't indicate if things are ok or not. If your lines are the same that is great too. Really, we shouldn't be peeling on things any more.

  @ThePax89 it totally freaked me out at first. That's how I noticed I was having a mc last time.
