Seeing movements but not feeling them as much

Hello friends, I hit 29 weeks today, and do feel baby move occasionally (although now it's more rolls but still a few jabs) but a lot of times unless I'm touching my belly I dont feel the movement, yet I can see him moving.
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing, and if seeing the movements counted toward kick counts, just if anyone knew or not. I can't call the dr till Monday.

Also as far as I know, unless some how it's changed for some odd reason, I have a posterior placenta.

Re: Seeing movements but not feeling them as much

  • I also see a lot of movements that I don't necessarily feel. I've read that if baby flips towards your back you won't feel the movements as strongly in your belly. I don't think it's anything to worry about. They're growing and running out of room!
  • Loading the player...
  • Hmmm, I still feel all the movements, but less of them are kicks/jabs and more of them are just movements.  It's certainly possible that it's the babys position but I'd ask at your next appointment just to be sure.

  • Oh same here! I think I just got used to babies movements so that I don't register them as consciously as in the beginning. Sometimes my whole tummy wiggles and bounces, but I don't feel it as much as it looks!
  • My doc says so long as I feel/movements not to worry, but if I haven't felt anything for awhile I always drink a glass of juice and sit down quietly to focus on it. Then I feel him a ton. As pp have said if you are moving around you may not be as focused on all of the more subtle movements going on.
  • I was noticing the same thing and told my doctor and she suggested that I have some quiet time at some point in the day, preferably an hour after eating, and use a kick counter. And said I should watch for about 10 movements. And in doing so, I think I realized I had just gotten use to the babies movements. Plus LO is starting to run out of womb.
