Im 5ft size 0 pre pregnancy. Doctor says baby is average size but in my small body she feels huge! Not only is she dropped and low down, she's also all over my ribs! Anyone else feel this way? And stms go early for this reason?
I was a size 0 before I got pregnant. Yes all I coukd feel is my baby girl kicking my rub cage it would hurt so bad sometines.. I got induced at 39 weeks so I think in would have gone on time or late if it was not for the induction
I'm 4"11 and my doctor was so worried she would be big that I've already done 2 biophysical profiles. They say she's only in the 60th percentile, but I don't believe it. I'm so uncomfortable all the time because she's so low yet she's up by my ribs too.
I was way tiny when I got pregnant, average height but really small. Now I'm HUGE!!! And they say my little guy is huge too. I have no torso so he's dropped but still right up in my ribs and kicking all the time. Oh the joys of pregnancy!
I'm just under 5 ft and petite. DD was an oz away from being 8lbs. I'm sure this next baby will be bigger. Had zero issues getting her out vaginally, besides back labor is a special kind of hell. Everyone regardless of their build is uncomfortable at this stage. Hang in there mamas.
I'm 5'0" with a short torso and small frame. Little one is taking up all the space I possibly have and I'm still 3 weeks away (at least). She's high up so I can barely breathe even when sitting down. Dr says she's average and will probably be 7.5 pounds when she comes out but idk...I'm still worried she's going to be huge and I won't be able to deliver her med-free like I want to. It doesn't help that I have a boyish figure with no hips at all. So to answer original question, yes. I am worried about her size relative to mine.
5'1" size 00-0. I'm at 39+4 now with no signs of labor. My uterus has been measuring 1cm behind for a while, so pretty normal. I also have 20 month old twins. They are identical but had their own sacs and placentas. They were born at 35+1 when one water bag broke.
With one baby I don't think size of mom is an issue. With multiples it's a little different but for one I wouldn't worry. My friend at 5'0" and super duper teeny gave birth vaginally to a full term 10.5 lb baby without any problems.
I totally get you on feeling like the baby is everywhere though. I don't think mine has dropped but really there's nowhere to drop to. My belly hasn't gotten that big so she's on my bladder and in my ribs and on my lungs.
I'm 5' and med-large framed with my torso being long and my legs being short. Healthy size for me is probably a 4-6. I also have no hips or butt. My DH is 6'2" about 220lbs. He was 9lbs13oz at birth and 22in long. Our son was born vaginally without problems on his due date at 7lbs5oz 19.5in long. He's been 60-80% percentile since birth, so he's not enormous but not tiny either. I definitely have trouble towards the end of my pregnancies with running out of room for baby, but I don't know how much is due to my size and how much is because I'm 9 months pregnant. I'm currently 36weeks so I haven't gone too early this time either.
I honestly don't worry about the baby's size. I trust my body to prepare itself and be able to handle birth.
I'm 5'6" and I feel like baby is all up in my business so I can't imagine how y'all feel. Suffice it to say, though, that even with the extra half-foot of height I can still feel baby all the way from my ribs to my bladder/pelvis so I do NOT envy y'all with less room! Go you, petite mommas!
Ugh I feel you! I am 5' and everyone keeps being like "well you haven't dropped yet"... There is no where for her to drop, she is already in my whole torso!! My son never "dropped" either.
Yeah, everyone keeps saying im still carrying high. And its like no shes as far down as it goes.. even the doctor said shes was super low.. theres just no room lol
I'm very petite, and my baby has an abdominal circumference in the 89th centile, so he's like a little barrel haha! He's also set to be between 9-10lb! The say the head is usually as wide as the abdomen... Wish my vagina luck!!
I'm 5'1 and completely agree with PP- I think she's dropped but I still have pressure on my lungs! The docs say my baby is small though so I'm less concerned about giving birth to her size and just hoping she's growing enough before she's born!
