Hi!
The last few weeks my (now) 16 week old cries when someone new holds her. I will say that typically it's when we're in a crowded room (holiday parties, etc.) so it could have been that she was overwhelmed. I'm trying to gauge how typical this is at this age. And also trying to decide when/how often I should take her back/console her (she wants momma for comfort) and when to let her be so she gets used to new faces.
Anyone else notice this behavior? Or is your baby happy to be held by new people?
I want to reassure her but want to encourage good social development too!
Re: Socialization for 3-4 month old
I know that I wouldn't want to just be passed off to some strange person I'd never met, so I figure she doesn't want that either. I'm not going to force her to hug someone she doesn't want to either.
I do make it a point to let other people hold her as long as she's happy since I think it's good for socialization.
