I'm only 40+3 right now. But I feel like this child is never coming. And it seems like everyone else already has their babies! I've tried walking, bouncing on the birth ball, raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, etc. nothing. Haven't tried sex only because DH has had a cold sore on his lips and I've been too afraid to be by it.
Re: Will this baby ever come?
Good luck to you and keep us posted!
Very frustrating
I had my membranes stripped yesterday, and I think my water broke this morning, with some definite bloody show, so I am hopeful. My midwife is giving me 24 hours to get labor started before they intervene. It's been 12 so far and nothing is happening
Like some other ladies have mentioned, I would like to avoid being induced too. I read something last night that said stress could keep the body from going into labor. When I stop to think about it, I was really stressed about work, family, unfinished projects, etc. So, I've resolved (it IS a new year after all) to take it easy by trying to relax, requesting lots of backrubs, meditating, and trying to de-stress. At this point, I can let go of the fact that she will not be born in 2015....so now I just need to go with the flow!
I think I will go treat myself to a yummy breakfast beverage at Starbucks. MAYBE even spring for some whipped cream.
Happy 2016 ladies!
I've been reading this thread for a while, but hesitated to join until I was actually overdue. Well today I'm 40+1 and no longer straddling the December/January line like you all were as well (unless some had surprises in the last few hours)!
My midwife doesn't do cervical checks unless it's insisted upon as it can often mean nothing for where you're actually at...however baby is engaged.
I didn't want to try any at home methods until I officially reached my due date, but yesterday I tried to do everything I could. Things I plan on doing are sex every day, bouncing on the birth ball, RLT 2-4 times a day, dates (although I don't like them), I'm going to grab some pineapple next grocery shop, walking, and clary sage on the belly. After trying all this yesterday I had Braxton hicks irregularily and painlessly for 5 hours or so...wasn't at home to do nipple stimulation like my midwife suggested when BH is happening, but I'll do it today if everything sets of BH.
I know, I know - baby will come when he's ready...just trying to get him as ready as I can lol
I love the positive attitudes of just relaxing into 2016, hopefully we have success with that!!
