Essential Oils...

So, I have a ton of friends who are consultants for Young Living Essential Oils but I have never tried it. The other day at work a co-worker commented on how I looked really pale, (she is a close friend as well), I told her I was extremely nauseous and she gave me a bottle of EO peppermint to put under my nose or just inhale.

It worked. Temporarily of course. Anyone else use EO during pregnancy for various things?

I haven't used any for a while, and this is my first pregnancy so I have no idea about them for pregnancy, but I do know the peppermint oil helped me with nausea and headaches a couple years ago.

I love my essential oils. Some of them are not recommended around small children or with pregnancy, so just make sure you do your research!

Essential oils are great! Like PP said, there are a few out there that should be used with caution when pregnant. If you can get ahold of some, though, you'll love it!

Great thread!  I got some DoTerra for christmas (peppermint, lavender and lemon).  I have been defusing at home but would love to try other ideas.

I purchased the Young Living oil starter kit a few months ago and LOVE them! But I haven't used them since I found out I was pregnant. I need to do some research. I'll post my findings soon!

We use doterra in our home daily :-)
Mostly diffusing but we love the onguard with coconut oil for my 3 year old to help keep germs away. Knock on wood we've all remained super healthy this year

I use Doterra products almost daily.  My favorite is a drop of lavender on my pillowcase before I go to bed.  I have read that you should not use peppermint later on in your pregnancy, because it can cause early contractions. There are plenty of websites out there and if you were to use Doterra products (similar to YL) they have an extremely helpful booked called Modern Essentials that you can get on Amazon.  Just make sure you read up on some of the oils, because there are certain ones that are not recommended during pregnancy.

I use YL and love them. My toddler is currently oiled up in the "flu bomb" and smells wonderful. Hoping it helps keep her safe from her cousins croup germs.

I have been using YL for 2 years but now I'm very nervous about which oils I can use topically. I'm hoping at my new OB appt they can give me some guidance.

DH & I love EO!  We mainly use the diffusers, one in our room and one is DS room, but I've used Peppermint oil for headaches and cramping due to PMS.  DS also has really bad eczema (sp?) so we use oils in his laundry detergent and soap to add a bit of "smell good" to it.

I had kidney stones with my last pregnancy and was advised by a doula to use a few drops of the lemon oil in my water several times a day. It helped and tastes great too. We also used a tropical blend in massage oil during labor to help me focus.
