Hypoglycemic with spiking blood sugar

Not pregnant I am hypoglycemic and sit around 60-65 for my blood sugar and now I am 11 weeks pregnant and even before eating I feel like crap and my blood sugar is around 90-105. Does this classify as gestarional diabetes? I don't want to eat and raise my sugar levels higher and feel so sick. Help!

Re: Hypoglycemic with spiking blood sugar

  • This is something I'd speak to your doctor and OB about. Perhaps a referral to a dietician to help you manage it. Eating is important, I don't think you can cut that out so figuring out how to do it with your medical team is probably your best bet.

  • I would figure just because you have hypo does not necessarily mean you have diabetes. Either way though, you're going to be tested for it. If you want to be tested early, talk to your OB.
  • I would hardly call 105 a spike... And even if that's substantially higher than normal for you, it shouldn't make you feel badly. I agree with pp, ask your doc and see if you can take the ogtt sooner if you're concerned. I mean you are 11 weeks could you just feel like crap because you're pregnant ?
  • I'm the same way.. Once I hit 90 I feel like crap.
  • I would talk to your doctor about it but feeling sick and stressed can cause a spike in blood sugars.
