Positive thoughts appreciated

This hasn't been bothering me until now... The night before my scheduled dr appt
Here's the story... I went in December 15th for my first appt (I had no idea really how far along I was as my cycles are super crazy and it was found with my last pregnancy I ovulate super late) based on my last ms I guess I would've bee around 9 weeks. The dating ultrasound put me at only 6 weeks which I guess that could be
My dr wanted me to come back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound (tomorrow is our appt on New Year's Eve day, 18 days since last ultrasound)
I have no reason to think anything will be wrong as my morning sickness has been constant all day nausea, along with all the other pregnancy symptoms.
I'm just really starting to stress about this appt now that it's tomorrow, then I try and tell myself that if my dr truly felt something was wrong or not developing right she surely wouldn't have me come in on New Year's Eve, right?
Sorry for the rambling and run on sentences here I just had to get my concerns out, hubby thinks I'm crazy!
Thanks guys for any extra positive ju-ju you send our way :-)

But don't read too much into the NYE appointment. My initial appointment and u/s were originally scheduled for 12/31 but was bumped back to 1/7 due to a scheduling issue. Unfortunately not everyone gets a holiday on NYE!

  • Positive vibes headed your way.
  • In the medical world, New year's eve isn't a holiday. Just another work day. So don't think too hard about that. Totally normal.
  • Everything I've read has said that an appointment around 8 weeks is not at all unusual (in addition to the initial dating ultrasound), and NYE is not a holiday in the medical profession.

I haven't had my first appointment yet, but I'm sure I'll be panicking the day before it just because it all seems so fragile. I'm sure your doctor would have said something if she thought there was any reason to be concerned, and all your symptoms are great signs of a healthy baby and increasing hormones.

*hugs* and good luck tomorrow -- let us know how it goes

  • Thanks. I am with the same dr I was with for my first pregnancy and delivery... It wasn't that long ago my daughter just turned 2.
With that pregnancy my first dating ultrasound I was 7 weeks and didn't have another one until my anatomy scan. That's where my worry is coming in. My dr also always has off between Christmas and New Years (she is seeing a few patients New Year's Eve morning and that's when she wanted me to come in squeezing me in at the end of her day) so I guess there's more to my worrisome
