Trying not to worry

I had an appointment with my PCP this morning for my annual physical. She also does well women's exams so she used the abdominal U/S to see if she could see anything. She said she saw thinks she saw a Sac but wasn't 100% sure. That she hasn't done an U/S in a while.
The office then called afterwards bc they forget to see when my last ms was.

Now I am freaking out worrying that I am 7 w 4d and should have seen something more visible on th U/S.

I go in for my 1st appointment with my OB on Monday 1/4.

Just looking for someone to help calm me down!! I am such a worrier at heart.

You can't see much with an abdominal u/s at this point. You need transvaginal.

Agree with this 100% ... she said it herself she isn't trained or used to doing u/s .... try to keep calm!

I also had a shitty scan recently. I go back Monday too. Demand transvaginal.
You are pregnant. Nothing is wrong. Just hang tight for Monday. So unfortunate that your physician has caused unnecessary worry.

Had my first appt with maternal fetal specialist(high risk due to prev history) at 7wks 5 days these people are specialists and they did a transvaginal! when I jokingly asked if I had to couldn't I just get an abd one they laughed and said no way not this early.so I wouldn't put one grain of sands worth of faith in a regular dr doing an abd us.... This is why they are best off keeping their nose outta ob business lol just my opinion...

I had my first us today at 7w 3d. It was abdominal. You could barely see a little blob of an embryo. I have no idea why they didn't do transvaginal. She goes "can you see that tiny flicker there? That's the heart beat." (I couldn't see shit). Hth.

I had my first us on Tuesday 7w3d and they didn't see much abdominal so they did a transvaginal and we could easily see the baby and its heart beat! Try to keep calm!

This early my OB always does transvaginal, you are probably fine! Hang in there only 1 more day!

I agree. Don't stress yourself. Monday will be here before you know it. If your on doesn't offer vaginal US ask for it to calm yourself.

With all three pregnancies I have had only vaginal aka internal us before 10 weeks.... I really wouldn't worry u too u speak to ob

I echo others. As someone who reads these ultrasounds frequently at my job, you need a skilled technician and a transvaginal US. I don't know why she even tried the abdominal -- it just adds to the patient's anxiety if nothing is seen (even if there is actually something there). Keep us updated on how your upcoming appt goes!

Update- saw my OB today and told her about last Thursday. She said she was sorry that my PCP made me worry. Got to see my beautiful baby growing with a healthy heartbeat of 158!!!!
